I look up into his dark eyes and say, "It was too easy... It was like stepping on a worm. How was I supposed to keep going?" He gives me a dark smile before saying, "I would have kept going until there was nothing left of him, but you did well."
I roll my eyes and say, "Well, the Artifact will pick up where I left off. That place is far worse than I could ever be. It finds the things you hate and fear the most, using them against you over and over again and no matter how much you beg for it to stop, it won't."
His handsome features crumble as a look of concern seeps from his dark eyes. "You were stuck in there? Experiencing all that?" I give him a small smile, saying, "I don't wish to recall that. Let's go check on how things are progressing."
He narrows his eyes, wanting to ask more but he lets it go as I start walking towards the front gates. He follows behind me and says, "There are only a few left but two Deities are heading this way." No sooner had he said that; two men walk out of the woods looking untouched.
They glare at Bolin and say, "So it's true! You are a monster with dark powers!" Bolin watches the two with a straight face before sighing and saying, "You two must be the Deities of the South and West, correct?"
The two continue to glare at Bolin as the one with white hair says, "You don't deserve to know who we are!" He lifts his hands, summoning a large amount of power and shooting it straight at us! Bolin goes to lift his hand, but I quickly grab it to stop him.
As soon as the powerful blast hits the invisible wall of protection, it bounces right back at him!
The other Deity had just shot a blast of his own when suddenly his friend goes flying back! He quickly turns to look at his friend in shock and confusion but when he looks back, he too is hit with his own powerful attack as well!
He flies back and comes to a sliding stop next to his friend, holding his chest. What... what just happened!?
Bolin's dark eyebrows shoot up in surprise before giving me a naughty smile of approval. I return it as Haun walks out of the woods, covered in blood. He looks at the two Deities with a smirk as he walks straight past them and into the estate.
He straightens his black outfit as he reports, "All have been eliminated, Master." Bolin's smile grows as he says, "Good, this is just the beginning."
The two Deities stand up, clutching their chest as they look at us in horror. The one with white hair yells out, "Just wait! I will get the Deity of the North to kill you all!" Bolin looks at him in mock surprise as Haun snorts with laughter.
The Deities glare at Haun and say, "Laugh all you want now but once he learns of this, he will kill you all!" Haun's laughter increases! He slaps his knee and wipes at his eye as he asks, "Master, do you plan to kill yourself and all of us here?"
I blink in surprise as the two Deities do the same. They look at Bolin in shock, unwilling to accept that he was in fact the Deity from the North. They look back and forth between Haun and Bolin, unconvinced. The one with black hair studders, "I... Impossible! You can't be!"
Bolin smirks as he asks, "And why is that?" As soon as he asks, a streak of lightning comes down and lands between them, shocking the two Deities and startling me. Suddenly, Fei Yue appears with a frown and asks, "Why is the Deity of the North here?"
Was the lightning a signature for a Deity or something?
As soon as he asks, he blinks in surprise when he sees the others. He looks at all of us in confusion before asking, "What did I miss? Why are you two here?" The other two Deities look at Fei Yue as if he were a ghost and yell, "You aren't dead!?"
Fei Yue glares at them both, "Why are you both cursing me!? I'm not dead! I'm here learning from my Master!" They gape, looking at us with shock and disbelief. Bolin rolls his eyes and says, "I thought you left."
Fei Yue looks smug as he says, "I knew you'd try to run me off, so I had to hide while practicing." He then turns to me and says, "Master, I still need some time. I only came out because I felt the presence of the Deity of the North. Wait, if you two are here and... wait, wait, wait! Who's the Deity of the North?"
Haun chuckles as he says, "The other Deities aren't too smart Master Bolin. Now I understand why you never wanted anything to do with them." Fei Yue glances at Bolin when suddenly he nods and says, "That explains a lot. Don't mind me."
He turns around and walks away, probably hiding again so that he could practice some more. The other two Deities look like lost children as they stand next to each other, unsure of what to do. They suddenly clear their throats before bowing and saying, "We've made a huge error, please excuse us fools."
Bolin watches them with cold eyes that slightly dance with amusement and says, "There has been enough bloodshed today. If you don't wish to join them, leave while I'm allowing you." The two bow even lower with respect before using their power to quickly leave.
I watch them leave as the snow begins to fall harder and harder. I turn to Bolin and ask, "The Deity of the North? So you're a Deity?" He arches a brow and says, "Haun, clean up. I have a lot to discuss with Lyra. I don't want to be interrupted, understood?"
Haun bows and says, "Understood. I will make sure you two aren't bothered." Bolin slips his hand into mine as he says, "It's time we have our talk. Just know that once I tell you everything, there's no going back."
I follow him to his office with an amused look on my face as I ask, "No going back? You make it sound so serious." He pulls me in and slides the door closed, looking at me with dark eyes as he says, "Because it is. Once I tell you everything, you're stuck with me."
I lift my eyebrows as I look up at him and ask, "Are you telling me that once you tell me everything, I can't leave knowing what I'll know?" His smile turns devilish as he says, "Precisely. Once I tell you everything, you're mine for good."
