Perhaps strong enough for his master not to know about this spell.

Viktor wanted to believe that it wasn't so, that his master simply didn't tell him because it wasn't that dangerous. But he knew he couldn't trust this. His master in the end is also a being with limits.

There are more powerful beings that can kill the master. And beings that can hide from him.

These beings could have more than enough motives to want to kill or capture Viktor.
