Scotty ducked behind some of pipes in engineering, steam was issuing out of some of them, and he exited the maze of pipes. He walked a few metres forward and found that you were slightly ahead of Scotty attempting to fix a sparking part of the ship. He stepped up to you. "What do ya have, lass?" You turned to face him and was yanked down quickly as a server exploded a few feet from you. You stood turning to face the smoking ruins that were once part of the ship. "Thanks, Scotty." He shrugged, as he turned to see what you were busy fixing, you could both feel the familiar tugging of the gravity beginning to shift. Scotty swore, curses falling from his lips as he rushed off.
You began to fiddle with parts of the controls, when you felt the tug of the gravity shift become stronger. Jim appeared beside you. "What can I do to help?" You jumped and stared at him shocked. "Spock's got the conn, I know enough about the mechanisms of the Enterprise, I can help." There was a pause, "I think." You turned back to what you had been fixing slotting it into place, it lit up signalling that this portion was fixed. "Gravity's fixed!" Scotty yelled out, Jim looked at you. "Since when was the gravity not working?" He questioned, you pursed your lips and gave an innocent look before shaking your head and grabbing Jim's hand and dragged him to another sparking unit. "I need you to do as I say." You informed Jim who wiggled his eyebrows teasingly but otherwise began to follow your direction.
You inhaled shakily, your hands trembled slightly, as you began to fiddle with the unit before you. Jim helped out. "Okay, I need you to move that wire, there." Jim made to remove and replace the wire, you had pointed at. "NO! NO! That one, what is the matter with you? You trying to blow up my ship?" Jim looked annoyed and turned to face you. "I think you'll find it's actually my ship." An array of sparks showered behind him, "Well there will not be a ship unless you do as I say." Jim mockingly saluted before tugging the wire and replacing it in its respective connection. There was a bang and a shower of sparks which had Jim jumping behind a mess of pipes and units. The engineering area was also cloaked in darkness as the lights blew out. "I think that's a good thing." You spoke softly. "Was that you, lass or me?!" Scotty yelled at you from his spot hidden by both the dark and the various pipes in engineering. "Not a clue!" You shouted back as you attempted to fix the lights. You were successful in your endeavour and engineering was flooded with artificial light.
Scotty made his way over to you, Keenser following. "Where's Captain Perfect Hair?" Scotty asked, you looked around and shrugged, "He ducked behind some pipes when the lights shorted out, maybe he's gone back to the bridge?" You shrugged and went back to repairing the damaged portion of the ship. Scotty huffed and helped you, a few moments later Spock appeared. "Have you seen the Captain?" After almost being blow up several times in quick succession had rendered your sarcasm, quick and dry. "Only after he attempted to blow up my ship." Spock looked as if he was about to speak when Kirk jumped out behind the mess of pipes, he had been stuck in. "What did I do?" His innocent tone didn't quite work, but Spock seemed to have more pressing matter, "Captain, you are needed on the bridge." Kirk nodded. "Right behind you, Spock." Spock turned to leave, and Scotty left as well muttering about holes in his ship. "Jim, what..." Your question was swallowed as Jim kissed you desperately, pulling you close as he pressed you against the small section of wall that you had been leaning against. You kissed back just as desperately. Jim pulled away, nodded and ran off to the bridge. Keenser who rounded the corner in search of you when you hadn't followed Scotty, he laughed at your stunned face, "Shut up." You muttered blushing.
