You had met Pavel when you had both been assigned to the Enterprise. You had both been seventeen when you had met. Now you were both twenty-five, part way through another five-year mission. After a close call on an away mission, Pavel had nearly been killed. Your brother had treated him, and Kirk had had a hard time keeping you from reaching Pavel while your brother worked on him. Nyota had helped Kirk calm you down, you sobbed on Kirk's shoulder while Nyota spoke in calming tones in your ear. When your brother came back, you had tackled him in a hug before he could even get the words out. Pavel had survived the surgery and was resting which was all your brother was going to tell you. Your brother's arms wrapped around you and hugged you tightly. He told you that 'the Russian kid' was recovering and in a room a few doors down. You dropped out of his arms and walked shakily to Pavel's room. Nyota jumped up to help you. McCoy dropped into a chair beside Kirk. Kirk clapped the Bones' back. "I don't know what I would have done if she had lost him. I couldn't hurt her like that." Kirk sighed, "Chekov is alive, and he will recover, thanks to you. Your sister is alive and with him, she is okay. You could never hurt her."
You lay beside Pavel in the small bed as he traced patterns on your arm. You slept peacefully beside him, thankful that he was okay and had survived. Pavel watched as your lips parted slightly as you breathed in and out. Your hair shone lightly in the low light, the artificial light drawing out highlights he hadn't noticed before. The door slid open with a puff of air, Pavel turned his head and saw your brother enter the room. McCoy sighed and gave a light smile when he saw you sleeping beside Pavel half on his chest, half on the bed. McCoy smiled when he noticed how tightly Pavel was holding you. McCoy drew a blanket around you and tucked one around Pavel. Bones' checked Pavel's PADD before moving back to the door. "Doctor McCoy." Bones turned, "Yes, Ensign Chekov." Pavel took in a deep breath before he started his question, his Russian accent cracking on the question. "I know your sister does not really like when people discuss her as an object or anything like that but I vant to ask for your blessing to marry your sister?" McCoy smiled, "Pavel, you have my blessing." The Russian whiz kid's face split in an unsurpassable grin. Pavel did ask you to marry him the moment you woke up. The ring glittered in the low light.
All this led to the moment you were currently in. Your older brother holding your arm as Nyota arranged your veil and ivory gown. Her own soft blue dress falling about her, Joanna your niece was dressed in a deep blue dress acting as your flower girl. You grinned at your brother who kissed your temple. "Ready?" He asked you nodded, the music swelled, and the doors opened. You saw Pavel turn and face the doors. Sulu and Kirk beside him as his best men. Pavel had the same grin as he had when you had accepted his proposal. You turned and gave a watery smile to your brother before beginning your walk towards your new future.
