" So, what is the mission? It isn't like we have a day to be free."
Daemon sighed, looking at the table with a depressed look. His legs were shaking because he wanted to go to the city before sunset and the worst thing would happen if he stayed there. Hence, he wanted to get out of this meeting and run back to the city. However, he missed something.
" Ah, I hope this is a good mission. Remember the last time we had to hunt ice slime, it took a week because they were tough and rare. Ah, what do you even use slime core for?"
Cynthia couldn't help to recall the time that she had to wash her clothes for hours due to their body constitution. It was so horrible and smelly.
" I just want money."
Leah whispered, thinking about the rare ice creams that she bought last time. As a gourmet, she loved eating good food despite her profession. Moreover, she wanted to buy new daggers that were made from the cold steel of the north. Cold steel was tough and sharp metal with ice ability which slowed people down.
" Hmm, I really want to travel. East seemed to be a great place to go since we got new tea."
Lisha stroked the little boar's head on her lap, feeling the soft fur and hearing a gentle purring from him. Her curiosity about the world was strong enough to overthrow her patriotism. Fortunately, Licht would always buy things that she didn't access.
" We are going to the land of gods. We need to protect the client for a month and gather intel about the new king of Roxan."
Regina showed the contents to her squad members as she placed her rifle on the table. She looked at Licht whom she wanted to reinforce her bullets. His enchantment magic was so good. Obviously, Licht understood her intentions, picking up the rifle and inspecting the damage from the last mission. The runes on the weapon showed where she bought this weapon and was enchanted.
They were written in both Dwarven language and ancient magic because the creator of this weapon was the former head of the technology institute in Stormwind. He traveled through the world to broaden his knowledge. He was regarded as one of the top geniuses in the world due to his high intellect and he was a friend of hers.
" Elemental enchantment? Fire?"
Licht spoke calmly despite his teammates who were arguing in the back whether they should hire a mage or not. Their loud voices were annoying, but he was used to it already, so he acted like a deaf person.
" Thunder would be okay, too. Ah, I also want to use ice."
Regina handed her magic bullets to him contrary to her teammates who were fighting each other. Daemon and Leah were arguing like always and Lisha and Cynthia were trying to figure out what was happening. She glanced at them once again, waving her hands to signal them. They raised their heads to look at her scary face that was clearly warning them to stop or they would have a pay cut which they didn't want.
Except for Licht who perfectly completed his mission, they were on various prohibitions due to their mistakes. For example, Daemon destroys everything he touches and Leah would get things bloody or messy. Cynthia would screw things off and Lisha just ignore her orders because of her identity and behavior which made Regina rage and quit almost every time.
" Ah got it. I will enchant it. So, where is the money for our mission?"
Licht asked, expressing his concern about the fee. Unfortunately, he was totally spot on as Regina turned her head around. Her hands were a little shaking as her pupils dilated which meant the worst outcome had come.
" Captain, where is our money?"
Licht asked once again, losing his temper for a moment. He slowly walked before her and scanned her expression with a not-so-cool expression because he understood her weakness. This uptight woman who adhered to justice had one fatal weakness and that was gambling.
No matter how hard Licht tried, he couldn't stop her gambling since she viewed it as her hobby.
