A man was walking to the ruins with his team. His clothes were light and his face was filled with scars like the rest of his body. A black scarf was dwindling around his neck.
He was known as ' Iron Sand ' Muhammad who was notorious for his survival skills and power which was the peak at level 6. Moreover, he was a disciplined man who doesn't harm any innocent people due to being a former sultan knight.
" The girl must be in the city. Find her before the envoy of the Gods. Otherwise, the old man will kill all of us."
He said, thinking about an old man who always covered his face with an old clay mask of the ancient devil. He was a merciless person.
Muhammad grabbed his scimitar as he walked through the ruins while scanning around him with careful observation. His black eyes were sharp as an eagle's and he was agile as a cheetah.
" The ruins of the ancient land. I never have thought they would be real and someone would be daring enough to enter this cursed land."
He muttered, hiding his curiosity in his heart. The harsh wind of the desert was getting nastier as it was saying his enemies were coming to him. As a captain of a mercenary team, Muhammad never feared those lunatics since the desert was his home and he was the deadliest here.
" Captain, we found a trace of her in the temple. She must have gone to receive the last of the ancient."
A tall brown reported to him while giving him a piece of clothing. Muhammad took the piece and placed it in his belt. His eyes changed slightly since he knew the girl was the true inheritor of the goddess.
" Forget about other gods. The Fallen will chase her and take the ancient items from her. We can't let that happen."
Muhammad commanded, reminding his subordinates that their true enemies weren't apostles, but instead it was a group of lunatics who would try to kill her.
Muhammad jumped to the roof of the building as he accessed more broad view. He took out his scope and his old parch as he started drawing the topography of the city to memorize where he should fight and avoid.
" This is a good place to fight since the desert is near, but I can't blindly trust in the terrain because they are a bunch of unusual guys. Who knows the fallen God might appear here."
He calculated the risks and looked for an exit where he can safely retreat. As a city, it had general four gates around the wall which were basically destroyed, but even so, Muhammad didn't consider them nonexistent.
" Listen, we will use formation A. Guard the gates, if something happens signal others with your flares."
The mercenaries nodded and left to their sides since they were accustomed to this kind of operation.
Muhammad smirked while heading towards the southern gate because he knew the danger of the south gate was a lot higher than others because it had no walls and it was on the high ground which was suitable for the raid.
Swoosh*
He instantly appeared at the gate as he saw four figures waiting for him.
" Captain, what took you so long?"
A man with one-eyed yawned while stretching his body.
" Kusha, don't be so rude. He was commanding others."
A woman wearing light clothes said, showing her proud figure. She had two pistols in her belt.
" Please, we are the strongest of our group. Others would be dead without us, Jas."
The brawny man laughed, not caring about others. His carefree expression silenced Muhammad who was trying to say something to them. He silently shook his head with embarrassment because it was indeed the truth.
" Don't be so smug, Adj'o. The Fallens aren't just our opponents this time, we have to dust some fanatics with lunatics."
A tall man said, spinning his batons with incredible speed. Others could say he was looking forward to the upcoming battle because it has been a long time since he had fought against divine envoys.
" Cain, are you hungry? I have some jerkies here."
Muhammad smiled while distributing his food to his allies. The mercenaries immediately took his jerkies away with greed.
" Don't mind me if I do."
Adj'o whistled, chewing the jerky. He was drooling for meat today due to not being able to eat it for a few days.
