Helga's pov;
"Grandma , you heard me right. I was in Alba" I tell her , of course at first she thought I was crazy and I was making it all up but as I explain better she is seeing how it can be possible.
"This amulet is why brought you there?" I nod and hand it to her so she can once again look at it closely.
"Isn't it the one you said your cousin owned?" I nod once again.
"Well then if you could travel to such a place and time like Alba then does this mean Avery did too?" She asks.
"That is something I have thought about as well and it wouldn't shock me that she didn't want to share this with anyone of us, she has always been selfish . At least now I have something she doesn't" I say and smile proudly to myself.
"Oh my dear child , this is some real magic you are playing with . It is no silly competition as you might take it as" grandma tells me with a distant look on her face , I am worried now.
Mind you grandma be knowing a lot about these things and if she thinks this is dangerous then it is . Does it stop me from doing it again? Of course no.
I am in my villain era , soon a complete apprentice of my sorcerer uncle , Helton Mury .
That is when I actually get to meet him.
"What worries you exactly grandma? It is not like I can get arrested if I am caught . Nobody knows about this apart from you and plus no one is suspicious of me in Alba , I am good at what I do" I say confidently.
"I am worried about your fate my child . Being a descendant of a powerful magically family , you will be exposed to strong magic that might destroy you if your anchor is anger and vengeance, which is what I see you have " I roll my eyes , what does she expect people to do with magic? Play doll ? Please.
"Don't worry about anything grandma , I can take care of myself . I am sure I was meant for this . All my life I was looking for a purpose and my path , maybe this is it ! Maybe tracing back to my ancestry was the solution. I need this grandma , I hope you understand" she then hugs me and just agrees with me .
I don't want her blessing with this , I just needed someone to know what was going on . I don't have sincere close friends to whom I can turn too .
Not like my perfect cousin who naturally attracts genuine people to her. Ugh , damn you Avery.
Avery's pov;
It has been 2 days since I have been to the hospital. I took these two days off to rest at the command of Sheila but mostly Eric who overly worried about me .
Today is different though , I decided to get up and go to campus . I am tired of just laying in bed , I don't feel any discomfort in my chest anymore so I think it is safe to move a bit .
I tiptoe out of my room towards the door because Sheila doesn't know I am going to campus , I didn't tell her because I know she will drag me back to my room. Dramatic much .
"And where do you think you are going? You are supposed to be in your bed resting" I turn around and who do I see? Sheila. Lord spare me.
"Sheila , I am going to go mad if I stay enclosed in that room one more day. I have to move a bit and plus aren't you dragging it a bit? Even Eric is okay with me getting fresh air out of there. And he is waiting for me outside so I can't bail now" I say and when she goes on to add more I go over to where she is standing and kiss her on the cheek ,
"Bye , I love you . See you at dinner time" I then sprint out of the apartment before her thunder comes upon me.
I join Eric who is as usual in the parking lot leaning on his car staring at me walking towards him.
"Are you ever going to change this routine?" I ask as I reach him.
"What routine?" He asks as he opens the door for me.
"The one where you lean over the car in a specific angle and just stare at me walking towards you as if we were at a modeling contest and you were judging my posture and shit" he laughs at that and goes over to his side,
"Well I think this routine has a charm to it , something poetic. You are the damsel coming towards your Prince and I just await to be graced with your presence . Don't you find it romantic?" He ask doing his imitation of lyrical eyebrows.
"Definitely not romantic. What type of movies do you be watching?" I shake my head at him and laugh and he follows as well . Silly jokes in his car have become a staple for sure.
He buckles his seatbelt and I do the same as our laughter calms down.
He turns to me and asks "How are you feeling today? No pain?"
"No pain . I think rest helped me subdue it quite a lot . I also feel much better thanks to you and Sheila's constant care . Thank you again by the way for the tea you delivered last night , it works miracles"
"No problem love . That tea has been in my family for ages , my mother uses it to calm her nerves and blood flow , works every time . If you need more of it let me know" I nod and he then he puts on some Olivia Rodrigo and to the campus we go.
First stop is history class , I have homework to pick up from professor AL. Sheila told him I had a health emergency and couldn't attend his class for some time so he accepted to file my assignments and hand them over to me once I am recovered which is now.
"Hey Avery! Girl over here" I look around and spot my some of my friends Cody and Alexa who are dating by the way . Lots of couples in my friend group lately , sucks for me who is practically the only one single. By choice of course.
I walk over to them and hug both of them , "it has been a while seeing you two. Were you love birds hibernating together or something?" I tease and Lexa hits me in the stomach. Ow . Girl has a strong punch don't underestimate her.
"Oh shut up you" she laughs and rolls her eyes.
"The real question is where have you been chipmunk?" Cody asks as he ruffles my hair . What is with everyone and messing with my hair?
"Just a lot of work to do , both school and my web novel" I explain with a sigh as I realize the work I have to get done to catch up to the others.
This might be the one bad thing about sick leaves.
"Oh wow , our little chipmunk is always on top of her game I see. There is only one domain you haven't mastered yet" he says chuckling as he exchanges a look with Alexa.
"Do I even want to know?"
"Boys Avery , I mean men. How has that been?" Alexa asks carefully, she knows after Lucas I was pretty low key. I still am.
"It's not a priority to me right now" I reply .
"Oh really? What about that guy who drops you to campus everyday huh? Is he a joke?" Cody asks wiggling his eyebrows . Damn you Cody , why bring up Eric? I mean they haven't met him yet , no one has , apart from Sheila .
Maybe I should organize something for all of my friends to meet.
"He is not , but we are just friends . You would actually get along with him Cody . I will cook something up for all of you to meet him"
"That would be fun" Alexa says excitedly.
She then looks behind me and makes a shocked face , I look behind as well.
To my surprise I see the last person I expected to see back here. Helga.
What shocks me more is what she has around her neck.
My amulet . The one that got stolen from me. How does she have that?
