12.5% I Became A God In A Parallel World(放开) / Chapter 2: Checking The System Out

Capítulo 2: Checking The System Out

I left the expressway immediately, thank the heavens it was midnight and so no one was there to watch me or I'd end up being the gossip of the streets the next day.

I then walked back home— A little room left behind by my poor parents, which was at the far end of the local street. The local street is where we the poor and powerless citizens live, we have no connection with the people from the town and even if we did, it is only concerned with doing business.

Even beggars, criminals and all sorts of evil acts are seen in this local street, not like there are none in the towns but to me, it's worst here than there. Anyone could commit any kind of evil act even in the broad daylight without being questioned or brought to law.

Law? There was nothing as such in the local street, we were left to do whatever we wanted. We only relied on a useless chief who knew nothing except money. As a man who loved money, he neglects the pleas of innocent victims and acts upon the instruction of those who bribe him with little change. 'What an incompetent wicked man!' I inwardly cursed as I left the expressway.

From the expressway to my house would take me an hour and so I hastened my steps, I didn't want to be stopped by those wicked thieves that operate at midnights, though I am not rich, it'll be bad if they should steal the little penny I have.

Soon I got home, the house was only a room with a kitchen and bathroom behind it. The house looked very old and had cracks on the wall, while the zinc had holes in it. Every rainy period, I had to keep buckets and basins under it to prevent water from filling the entire house.

I opened my door and went in, the room was small and comprises only my bed, a small table and chair and a small bag of clothes. I had nothing else apart from a small wooden box where I save part of the money I make daily.

I went to my bed and sat down. Status' I inwardly said as the system had told me to and a golden transparent wall appeared before my face.

[Welcome user to the supreme level-up system]

I heard the same mechanical voice say in my head. The transparent wall before me then showed me a part of it with the word 'status' inscribed on it.

"System, how do I increase all my stats?" I asked seeing that all my stats were damn low.

[That can be done by completing all the tasks provided in the mission box]

These skills are locked. [Level Up to unlock the Advanced Skills]

---------------------

I stared at all the skills and was quite happy with them though the advanced ones were locked. It would only take a matter of time before I unlock them so I needed not to worry much about it.

"System, show me the mission box!" I said in excitement as I could not wait to begin the said daily tasks that the system will be giving me.

[Mission Task]

Daily Task: Run 500 laps every morning for 20 points

100 Sit-ups for 10 points

100 press-ups for 10 points.

Duration: Four Weeks

----------------------

"500 laps?" I screamed while staring at the mission box, how the hell was I going to run up to that amount?

Running 500 laps is like running from our local street to the town. Using a cab will take one like two hours to get to the town, how much more when I use my legs.

I sighed and stood up. Whatever, I'll have to do it because I so much want to be powerful. I came out of my room and then entered the kitchen, I still had a pot of leftover meal that I prepared the other night and so I heated it and served myself.

"Damn it!" I mumbled as I munched the food, it was halfway to getting sour and the taste had already changed. Nevertheless, I continued eating it. I had some work to do in the early hours of the morning and so I needed the energy to do them.

After I had finished eating, I washed the plates and then went into the bathroom to take my bath. My baths last for 20 minutes because I'll have to wash my lengthy white hair which was something I inherited from my mother while I took my father's red eyes.

Before they died, they had told me that I had pure white skin at birth but as I grew, my skin began to return to the normal complexion. I took my bath hastily because the water was extremely cold and rushed out of the bathroom as fast as possible.

I quickly went in and then wore my clothes after which I climbed unto the bed. Soon, I saw myself drifting away into sleep but I had one thing in mind and that was to wake up early to begin my daily task.
