Capítulo 1: Prologue
Eleven years ago
I remember that horrible summer day just like it was yesterday. We lived as a happy family, or as happy as we could be when your parents were my parents. Then the worst thing happened, they came. The Dark ones!
My name is Layla Aine ( Layla means night and Aine refers to the Irish goddess that was associated with the sun) and I am an Elf, and I know what you’re thinking, small little creature with pointy ears, but though we do have slightly pointy ears we look just like regular humans we just have very vivid eye colors and our eyes are brighter than usual.
But back to that horrible day. I was playing in the yard and it was a lovely day, the kind that makes you love summer. My parents live on the outside of Sonne, not quite on the border of Nutt; those were the two Elf Kingdoms. Sonne the Kingdom of the Light Elves, and Nutt the Kingdom of the Dark Elves.
The day that the dark ones came, they brought destruction to Sonne. My parents were the first to die. I escaped only because my parents used all of their magic to send me to safety. The Elves of Sonne fled to the human world where they adapted to the human way of life. Because elves age very slowly from their 18th birthday and because elves are highly intelligent most of the adult elves went to get degrees and such to be able to get jobs just like humans do, some are doctors, some are teachers, nurses and others have successful businesses so we learned to blend in among the humans, who’s world we now share, and that is where everything started.
