Shani interpreted Neva’s words as foreign, the idea was so far-fetched. She almost laughed, too. But then she was struck with possibility.

Neva was looking Shani over in concern, opening her mouth to speak, but Shani cut her off. “Neva, would you like to have dinner with my family?”
