Mila’s heart raced. “What do you mean?”

“Something happened between you and the Alpha. For some reason, Landon and Isla haven’t called you out on it, which means they already know,” Carlos told her as he drove back towards the city.

“Your heart races every time I mention him. Either he hurt you again, or something else happened between you two,” he stated very calmly.

Mila’s hands twisted on her lap. She knew she had to confess, or Carlos would probably beat the answer out of Rowan, which would be ugly.

“Hehe, funny thing, he happens to be my mate who beat me up as a kid.”

Carlos slowed the car to a stop. “And you were planning on telling me this when?”

Scratching the back of her head Mila looked out the car and then back at Carlos. “Honestly? Never if I can’t ever be with him.”
