Alex's innocence and his cheerful personality reminded Happy of Rain's past self and this was the reason he decided to take Alex with him. Then he went on to tell him about how they were introduced, their life in the serpent corps, and how Obi decided to use them as his secret weapons to overthrow Dred and rule the organization thus hiding them both from the eyes of Dred.

Li Yang had tears in his eyes when he heard how Obi went behind Happy's back to inject them with the morphing drug. It was six months after Alex was taken to Warerior Peaks. Had Happy not injected them with the secret drug that he had made using Rain's blood for this very purpose, both of them would have probably died a painful death there and then.

Although Happy had been working on this drug for years, it was still halfway through and Obi had pulled this move before he had anticipated so it was still fairly painful for their age if not as much as others.
