Roco's evolved brain operated at full speed as he started thinking.
In just a few seconds, a smile appeared on his face.
"In another world, there was a man with the same goal as you. But he tried a different method than yours. He used an illusion magic that enveloped the whole world…"
As Roco told the story, Thanos' face became frozen.
"Another world? Magic?"
Thanos looked up at Roco. He sighed and asked, "So, you're from the outside?"
"No, not really. I am just a businessman outside space and time."
Roco politely responded, and changed back the topic. "If you shatter the jar and are lucky to get the illusion, you can release it on the whole universe with the power of Infinity Gauntlet. You can make the living forget the dead, and they won't recall…"
But before he could finish, the bottle in the purple man's hand burst with a bang. Thanos was startled
"Why didn't you come earlier?"
Thanos laughed. His gloominess disappeared, and his back appeared straighter and taller.
"Bring me the jar. I'm going to get this illusion.
"You didn't lie to me, did you?"
"Of course not." Roco spread out his hands and displayed a sincere look.
Then, as if he had suddenly thought of it, he spoke.
"There may be some sort of resurrection technique in the jar. You can also resurrect your daughter."
ka!
Thanos was shocked, the word echoed in his mind like a thunder.
"Resurrection, resurrection, resurrection …"
These words were stuck in his head and his nerves tightened.
Not long ago, to obtain the Soul Stone, he had to sacrifice his most beloved daughter.
It was a great source of pain for him.
Nothing could make up for it, and the pain wouldn't go away.
So when he heard Roco's words, he spiralled out of control.
His body trembled.
"Give it to me. I will shatter it. I will mercilessly shatter it …"
Thanos displayed a rare look of excitement and advanced towards him.
"Gollum!"
Roco gulped. The imposing manner of Thanos and his teary eyes made him recall it. He knew that he had spilled the beans too soon.
"Shit, I should've used it as a killer."
Roco sighed. He smiled gently and said, "I'll bring the jar."
…
Roco took a short while to return from the hut. There were four jars in his hands.
The way this system worked was very peculiar. It specified that one person could only smash four jars in one day.
But the cost would increase each time.
In simple words, if the first jar was 10 Yuan, the second one would be 100 Yuan, and so on. It went on until the person couldn't afford it anymore.
This increase would only reset once a year, and the original price would be restored at that time.
Roco shook his head, feeling his balls tingle.
"What's the point of doing this?"
Roco didn't understand it and sighed.
[Ding!]
Suddenly, a cold voice rang in his ears.
[Ding! Does the host not want to harvest the souls of others? You know, If he breaks open the jar but cannot afford it, his body and even the soul will be harvested as compensation.]
Roco paused, and his eyes glimmered.
"What?"
[Ding! According to the absolute contract of the store – 'If a customer can't afford the product, the system will enforce the contract by harvesting the customer's soul.]
Roco acted like he wasn't excited and confirmed.
"So that's why the customer can break the jar before payment"
[Ding! Yep]
"Gollum."
Roco swallowed his own saliva in shock
"No wonder this piece of shit is called the Demon Merchant"
It is all about pitfalls.
"Shit, I am lucky to be the owner of this store. Who knows if I would have been deceived to death otherwise."
However, Roco found it reasonable.
It was only targeted at the greed of the people.
"If you want it, pay for it.
There is no such thing as a free meal.
If you can't keep your greed in check, you deserve to be devoured by the 'Demon'."
A strange smile appeared on Roco's face as he continued thinking.
"I would rather be a 'demon' myself, rather than being devoured by one..
"No, a Devil businessman!"
Roco became relieved as his thoughts became clear.
Within a few breaths, he had already reached Thanos and was standing in front of him.
But cutting his excitement short, Thanos' voice ringed in his ears.
"How much for one jar?"
"Huh?"
Roco was shocked. Thanos had taken out his wallet.
"Eh, You can smash it first, and then pay the bill."
"No thanks! I would rather pay the bill first. Besides …"
Thanos took a glimpse at him and continued.
"You don't look like a simple man. It's hard for me to trust you. I will pay the bill first to be safe. After all, I do not want to lose my Infinity Gauntlet for this."
Thanos raised the Gauntlet on his right hand proudly as he spoke.
It appeared as if Thanos had noticed Roco's attention towards his Gauntlet.
