A loud crash interrupted our conversation. It was too loud to be just someone dropping a tray of glasses in the main hall. A blood curdling scream followed, chilling me to the bone.

Mark and I ran towards the sound without another moment of hesitation. As we neared its source, a warm and metallic scent wafted through the air.

“Blood!” Mark said.

I kicked down the door and the scene we stumbled upon looked like it had been taken straight from a horror film.

A terrified Leona crouched in the corner of the room, screaming her head off while clutching her bleeding wrist. The amount of blood there was, it was no small cut. Her upper arm had been sliced and bloodied by claw marks.

I was about to run to her aid when we caught sight of the monster who had attacked her.
