He hadn't been awake this early before, but he knew he just had to. There was some sort of disturbance and he opened his eyes. He had to wait for his head and the rest of her body to catch up. When things were less blurry he looked up to see that there was a nurse looking down at him. Seemed too early for them to wake him up and tell him to shower. He needed more sleep. He had cried more than slept the previous night and he could feel it under his eyes. Maybe he could ask for something.
Looking up again, the nurse seemed to be checking his vitals, but she didn't have that pad that they usually had.
"I'm guessing it's time for me to get up".
"No" she responded plainly. "…but I'm sure after this you won't be able to sleep" she stood straight, her back towards him as her fingers toyed with her face mask. He didn't understand. She turned to him and his eyes nearly bulged out of his head.
