Anna Shen and Ping Ming arrived home looking so tired.
"What a stressful day;we baked one hundred and fifty pieces of bread." Anna sat lazily on the couch.
"Anna, it's actually worth it. At least we gained something." Ping sat opposite to Anna looking at her worried face.
"What are we going to have for dinner?" Anna gazed at Ping who was busy checking the meal menu.
"None of them here seem appetizing to me." Ping passed the menu to Anna who bluntly refused to take it. "What do you think?"
"I'm not just in the right mood for that Ping." Anna's face looked so sour while she used her hand to support her jaw.
"What are you thinking about Anna? Is it about Mr. Shen; your father?" Ping sat close to her friend to calm her nerve. Definitely Anna has been having issues with her father.
"Yes, I still can't believe father chose that wench over me." Anna groaned furiously.
"Mr. Shen is a wolf in a sheep's clothing. He's not worthy to be your father. Don't get so worked up by him." Ping added.
"He drove I and my mother away just to welcome his new mistress and her children." Anna was getting pissed when. she remembered what her father made her to pass through. "He's not even aware that mother is dead."
Ping stood up with a deep frown on her face after she thought about what Anna must have gone through because of her father's nonchalant attitude. "What's your plan now?"
"I want my inheritance!" Anna smirked evilly.
"But... but, Mr. Shen is not dead yet." Ping shuttered in total confusion.
"Madam Fu Yi told me that father has already shared his property to his foster children." Anna let out a deep sigh revealing her sadness.
"Madam Fu Yi?" Ping stressed. "In that case you really need your own share of Mr. Shen's wealth." Ping became in full support of Anna.
"I'll be going to the Shen's mansion tomorrow to take my own inheritance and take back the money I spent on my mother's hospital bill." She concluded why Ping applauded her.
"That's my baby girl." Ping excitement was cut off my Anna's grumbling stomach. The both ladies laughed out loud. "Let's get something to eat."
"How about we have Kung Pao Chicken for dinner. You know it's our favorite." Anna suggested with a grin on her face.
"Hmmm.... I think Peking Roasted Duck would do..." Ping chuckled seeing Anna's frown.
"Whatever." She rolled her eye balls and went straight to the kitchen and Ping Ming followed.
Kung pao chicken is a highly addictive stir-fried chicken with the perfect combination of salty, sweet and spicy flavour!
Inside the Kitchen both Anna and Ping agreed on having Kung Pao Chicken for dinner.
Anna took over the kitchen since Ping was still a novice chef.
"Anna why don't you tell me the ingredients of preparing Kung Pao Chicken." Ping pleaded.
"Alright Ping." Anna reluctantly agreed.
Anna brought out the ingredients for preparing Kung Pao Chicken and explained them to Ping.
"There are six main ingredients in the sauce to make the perfect Kung Pao Chicken:
Chicken broth or stock (use low sodium) — you can also use water if you don't have any broth on hand!
Light soy — use light or low sodium if you can. Regular soy creates a really salty sauce for this recipe.
Dark Soy Sauce — adds beautiful colour and flavour to the sauce!
Hoisin sauce — more depth of flavour!
Chinese black vinegar — or a good quality balsamic vinegar can be used instead.
Chinese wine (Shaoxing) — to substitute you can use any of the following: dry sherry, gin, rice wine vinegar, apple cider vinegar." Ping smiled on hearing the ingredients.
"For the stir fry, I've included broth red and green bell peppers (or capsicums) and the traditional roasted peanuts. You can also add in diced celery, sliced carrots and/or zucchini!
Sichuan peppercorns (szechuan pepper)
We can't call it Kung Pao Chicken if there's no Sichuan (or Szechuan) pepper! They provide delicious mouth-numbing heat! Find them in Asian grocery stores and supermarkets, or Chinatown shops (even gourmet chains such as Whole Foods)." Anna paused to take a deep breath.
"To toast them, add to a dry pan, wok or skillet over medium heat. Stir for about one minute until fragrant. Then transfer to a mortar and pestle to grind." Anna explained, when she turned to look at Ping she was already snoring which made her laugh as she prepared their dinner.
Meanwhile back in Xander's Mansion.
"Master Li, what would you like to have for dinner?" The middle aged woman bowed to Xander who was about to open the door to his study room.
"Hot Pot Meal." He simply said and dashed I to his study room closing the door behind him. "Wonder what Wang Shu is up to this time!" He said after seeing the missed call on his phone screen and called him back.
Master Wang Shu answered his phone without any hesitation. "Hey Xander." He paused.
With a cold and husky voice. "Yeah, what?"
"I dropped what you asked for and I hid it inside the cupboard in your study room and besides, Tan Shun is dead." Master Wang Shu informed Xander who was in search of the hidden item.
"Tan Shun? He used to be an ally, what happened to him?" Xander sounded with less concern.
"You know what Alexander, I think the Angelic Beings already knew where we are and I think they killed Tan Shun as a sign." Master Wang Shu briefly explained further. On hearing the 'Angelic Beings' Xander got furious.
"Alright then, Master Wang Shu we'll get to talk about it tomorrow." He hung up and took the gun like object that was hidden that has a needle at the center hole of it and injected himself with it, causing him to tell in pain as the middle aged woman; Meng Xi ran in on hearing her master's scream.
"Master I heard you scream."
Xander hid the object and turned facing the wall, so as not to reveal his horrific fiery red eyes.
"Get out." He yelled at her.
"But Master Li..." Meng Xi said with a trembling hand.
"I said get out!!" Xander then revealed his eyes to her with flames which had no eye socket covering it and the woman ran for her life.
"So pathetic!" He continued with his unfinished task.
