Lucia's eyes widened in surprise. Her pent-up frustration and rage suddenly vanished after hearing what Gastone had stated.
"What did you say?" Lucia muttered as she slowly leaned back. She felt the pressure inside the car increase as the tension between them heightened.
"Lucia, I love you wildly, insanely, infinitely," Gastone repeated his words gently. He internally wanted to smack himself for confessing the feeling he was supposed to suppress, but he couldn't step away now.
Lucia pursed her lips. "Well, that's a bit exaggerated," she stated, shaking her head. She was still in a daze about why Gastone loved her, and her brain couldn't register it clearly.
"I have been keeping these emotions for a while. I know you don't love me or anything closer than that, but now you know why I'm still here for you," Gastone stated as he stared back at the road.
"Change is scary, but change is growth."
