“I’m sorry, what?” I asked

“Who do you think you are looking at me like that. You don’t even deserve to be at this hotel. I mean,” Amanda’s eyes moved up and down, “why would they even hire someone like you?”

Someone like me? What is this lady’s deal?

“I don’t understand what I did. . .” I wasn’t even sure how to finish that sentence. She was treating me like I did something awful to her, but I swear I’ve never seen her before in my life besides when she checked into the Manor.

“Your existence bothers me. We don’t need your kind in the hotel.” Amanda leaned in as she whispered, “One day when I run this place with Kieran, you’ll be the first thing to go. He might enjoy having you as a novelty pet, but I don’t think you’ll be around for much longer.”
