With furrowed brows, she pressed her ear against the door, listening to the noise outside, unsure of who it might be. Her heart was in her throat, fearing it was Carter and his crew returning to dash her hopes.

However, the sounds outside didn't seem to match that scenario.

Tara clung to the door, her cheek pressed tightly against the panel, holding her breath to listen closely.
