...They really needed help.
The grotesque look on the cells said so much as each parallel crossliner was ebbed vaguely to their vambraces.
Blake, Evie and Tera continued their search. They did not bother stopping for even a second as they realised that the water was pooling in very quickly. The pressure from the water shot out and at a point, it became really hard to move around all the surging waves tearing around the meelie attic.
Around the four corners of the cell room, Jotham was still not found. The air around them was becoming unbearable as it was even hard to drag in a soothing breath. Each drag amounted to their struggle that they had to wonder how the slavers have been coping around such chaotic air.
Blake instantly halted the minute he rembered that there was absolutely two more dacon above them. And that if Jotham wasn't in here then probably, he would be up and above.
The water was fast levitating above their waist so they had to start running or else...
Finally making it to the stairs winding upwards, the water just reached the mouth of the stairs and the trio darted furtively out of the water and headed into the upper layer.
'Rest in peace... Slavers.'
Blake thought about the other slaves they met earlier below the attic. They must have all died due to lack of oxygen.
Getting up to the second to last dacon, the trio scampered in feeling dread washing over them. Looking at the position of the deep moated domain of the the heirlock, the degradation around it was pretty obvious that it sank beneath the water rather quickly. One moment, they were seen walking quickly on dry marble floor, the next moment the water was pooling around their feet in a rather harsh pressure. Blake sighed.
They really have no time on their hand to waste. If they needed to find Jotham, then its now.
***
Running quick among the different cells, they groaned defiantly.
'No, this can't be...'
They have searched and searched but Jotham was not found. Was Jotham kept in a cell below all of this? Have he been caught up with the surging water?!
No way, right?
The actuality that Jotham would be dead doesn't count as something really explicable or does it?
They felt hopeless, downcast and weak... no weak wasn't the word, they were... tired. Yes, they were tired of searching.
"Blake, we've searched the entire place but Jotham isn't found. Except... he is already down..."
Evie trailed as she recieved a blatant stare from Blake.
"I understand your point..."
Was his simple answer.
He was acting brave now, but truely, his bravado act was showing how really downcast he was.
Tera could possible read through his facade. All she was able to read was frustration... he was frustrated to no end.
He never thought that this problem would stress him to this extent. First and foremost, he had anticipated that all he had to do was fight heirlocks, defeat them to get the keys to the cell then, free Jotham. But that was not the case. Instead, everything went haywire rather. Their life was in danger, the territory was sinking below a vast ocean or simply put, a large body of water, and Jotham seemed to be missing. Was he dead or alive, no one knows, did he perhaps escape the heirlock just like Blake did?
What would he do now?!
All of a sudden, a quick pressure burst into the mirrored windows and the large gust of water pushed them over the hedge and their bodies dragged along with the tide and thrown against the wall or serene platform.
They were shocked!
The territorial dome had sunken faster than expected. The top of the roof still towered above the surface and they needed to find their safety or else, they wouldn't live to tell it all.
As the water embedded them, Blake held his breath as he tried using his both hands and legs to propel himself upwards but, the current was so strong that even his movement was hopeless.
Realising how dark the water was, he held onto a large pole and used the [Darkness Cover] instantly. After that, he tried to take in air only for water to pass through his nostrills.
'Damn!'
He wasn't still able to breath even under the covers of darkness. His lungs now burned so intensely, but he later realised that, the harsh current of the water didn't affect his incoporeal state. He was able to move freely without interference.
'Good... good!'
Blake was pleased. At least, he wasn't obstructed by the pressure. He ran immediately still conserving his energy for which he realised was draining so rapidly due to his need for quick oxygen.
He immediately reeled himself upwards as he stared at the open roof top which wasn't fully submerged with water and he reached that point only for him to take in a sweet refreshing breath. His lungs was practically burning that while taking in that air, he remembered Evie, Tera...
he had completely forgotten about them on the verge of trying to save himself from the groping hand of death.
His eyes widened the moment he saw Evie reaching out for Tera on the surface of the current filled water and Tera was drowning...
How Evie managed to stay aloaft, Blake couldn't tell but he realised that he needed to save Tera. Evie was fine to him so he jumped off the pole, retreating from the Darkness Cover and letting the tide reel him towards the girls.
He managed to speak with his head out of the water.
"Save yourself Evie, there's an escape pole over there..."
Blake took in another deep breath as he watched Evie swim over to the pole.
Blake held Tera.
"Hey Tera... take a deep breathe now... we would be out of here sooner trust me..."
Tera's eyes blinked as she took another sharp intake of supplous breath.
"H-how, d-d..do we..."
Tera breathed again as she coughed out more water from her system. She was able to stay aloft due to Blake's hold on her.
The water kept reeling them in circular motion around the water with Blake manuevering his body just in case they were about to collide with the wall.
"Listen Tera... I hope you're listening. Take in breaths. We would be submerged underwater for a while.."
Blake's own eyes reeled on hers as she nodded slightly.
Then, they suddenly became incoporeal.
Evie who was already getting to the top of the roof turned to the duo who suddenly vanished out of sight.
'Huh, where did they go?'
After Blake and Tera had reeled downwards, free from the pressure and tide, they both started heading towards the pole without them disconnecting their contact of touch and Blake pulled her up while doing all of the climbing work.
Normally, she weighed nothing because she was like the darkness.
Eventually, they reached the roof top and a what welcomed their view was a large body of water stretching far behind and far ahead.
'When they reached here was really a mystery.'
'Or is it that the heirlock's territory that took such large space?'
Blake felt dejected for a while. They weren't safe because definitely, even the roof top would sink below and they would end up being drowned by the vast sea.
Now the question was;
'what to do?'
