Capítulo 7: Curses And Divinity[Mark of the hidden gods of immerse calamity]

This chapter is dedicated to @EmalineFadaini. Thanks for the Powerstones!

Both Evie's and Tera's eyes bulged out the moment a ghastly figure emerged from a cloud of thick dust. Cladded in golden steel amour breast plates, which covered every part of it. Deep blue eyes burning wildly like a furnace of death. A radiating energy of utter bloodlust bloomed making an animose feeling of eerie grip whoever was near by. But Blake did not flinch! He felt this feeling the last time the Orthodox Crane made its appearance so feeling it again was not enough to scare him except the crane decides to triple its fierce appearance and this was because, the orthodox crane was now a part of him. Just like he has a heart, the crane is now like a second heart willing him to do things depending on the aspects of such thing he has to do.

Tera turned immediately to Blake.

"The gods have blessed you?"

She was shocked because no one ever gets the blessing of a god through the orthodox crane in a short period of time. Even those lucky fews that were blessed had to pass through days and days of intense bloodshed and torture before getting the blessings. But right now, Blake was a different species. Nimbly blessed in a couple of hours after one kill. What incredible luck that was.

Was it his battle style that attracted the gods? No one knows, but Tera could clearly remember that he had killed a deranged vampire earlier. That particular kill had earned him the blessinhs of the gods and now here was another. Blessings or curses... whatever he recieves would be of good use to him.

Right now, only Blake could hear the Orthodox crane speak.

[Dormant Blake, the affinity to curses have been bestowed to you.]

Blake choked on his saliva hearing that.

'Curses, did he kill to recieve curses?'

Blake was dumbfounded. But that wasn't all because the Orthodox crane still had more to say.

[All blessings must come with a curse. Your curse had been locked in a Threshold. Do you want to unlock it?]

"Why would I do that?" Blake sneered staring at the inhumane figure standing vaguely before him. Plus its lusterous armour was glittering in the moonlight. His [Dark Umbrellea] hanging over him to protect his soul from being snatched.

Tera and Evie were the most confused because right now, the crane seems to be speaking to Blake and they were unable to hear it. In a whole cycle of the synthetic entity, every person is being assigned a personnal Orthodox Crane. You might be able to see it but cannot hear what it says. Only the person that the crane is being bestowed upon was able to hear them. Besides the crane was both Blake's blessings and curses.

Blake stared into the expressionless eyes of the orthodox crane wondering whether he should accept the curse or not. Besides, this was his fate and he couldn't run away from it no matter what. It was like, a sidesay whereby if Blake refused to unlock the curses, a time will come where Blake would have to choose to either die or unlock the Curses. [Sidesay]

The Threshold of the curses was still withheld in by the crane untill the final reply was made.

Blake sighed over and over again before replying.

"Unlock the Threshold."

A sudden gleam sparked in those deep blue ravendous eyes. An influx of mischief compiling and a wicked smile... uh, did it really smile? Orthodox crane doesn't have expressions or do they?

Its voice spoke.

[So be it.]

After that remark, a certain light danced around with myraid colors in the air. Silhouette of darkness began to swirrl as the process of unlocking the Threshold progressed. Embers of light were opening, gust of wind was brewering and a loophole was created.

Now Blake could feel the transformation. It wasn't as dire as the first that he encountered with the ball of energy. This time around, it was as if a certain something was opening. Something full of treachery. Something dark... it was the embers of divinity. The [Embers of divinity] was a channel to tell how the curses and flaws would go but right now the curses were opening even more and becoming dominant than the flaw.

[Your Curses are undergoing transistion.]

[You are being relocated to a new destination...]

Blake blinked,

'what...'

He realised instantly that once he moves, Evie and Tera would not be able to find him. Plus teleportation of this nature takes time to work so he immediately took a tight hold of the both ladies hands. It was an iron grip which would ensure that wherever he was being relocated to, they would be taken along due to the contact.

"What are you doing, Blake?"

Evie hissed with discontentment on her face. She tried to dragged out of his hold but his hand was much stronger.

"Listen, am being moved to a new direction.. if we dislodge connection, I might vanish out of thin air. Well that's good though, the moon is a soul reaper... and I don't want to be an escape goat." Blake said.

"What do you mean by [Soul reaper]?"

Evie asked with a confused look erthed on her face.

"The moon gazing down right now is able to reap someone's gaze. Look at my shade.."

Blake displayed the [Dark umbrellae] before positioning it to hang over his shoulder as he gripped Tera with his other hand.

**

In no time, Blake, Tera and Evie saw themselves in a strange place which looked like a whole new world. Pandomonium stars glittered in the dark sky, with its color featuring a radiance of slight violet. Harsh wind picked up in quick pace and crashed against a feverant hill which sloped upwards littering dust into the air. The floor was bedded with soft sand with stones and debris shooting out, roughening the soft sand. Gitters and spikes protruded from the floor boding and towered only five meters above, with sharp corals edged on it. Blake stared at the place with a calm expression. He dismissed the [Dark Umbrellae] which disintegrated into sparks and leaving his sight.

A bony rib like structure was prowled into the soft sand which just looked like the bone of an already slain creature. The clouds were gray though but it was far from raining.

Blake could still feel the presence of the Orthodox Crane. He turned to search for the [Creature turned into a god] but just after he turned, he heard a voice resound in the silence of Blake's mind.

[Curses: You are trapped in a hidden land. Your freedom lies in the Vile Castle.]

[Trial: Freedom]

'Damnation! My trial is to get my freedom.'

Blake informed both Tera and Evie so as to have to get ready for what was to come. But now his question was where this Vile Castle was.

"Where is the Vile Castle?"

Blake asked the orthodox crane who remained silent for a while before replying obnoxiously.

[Over the dark coast of Linards Mountain chain.]

Immediately, a striking question registered in his mind. The question he had always wanted to ask the Orthodox crane. It was about his mark. Mark of some gods. The thought of it was striking enough to create an intriquing circumstances to the mind. Blake decided to spew his question.

"What mark do I possess? What am I entittled to?"

"What possible fate do I posses. The mark of the god's depicts what exactly?"

Blake's mouth ran out of question as the Crane remained utterly silent only for the voice to say.

[That's meant for you to discover yourself. But right now your entittlement...]

[Descendant of the hidden gods of intense calamity.]

[Monument of Treachous Fate...]

'Wait what...?'

[Condescending Barrier to all human existence...]

Blake's eyes bulged. This was a true definition of a terrible power.

'Calamity...?'

'Barrier to human's existence..?'

'Monument of fate..? What in the spells is a Monument of Fate?'

Blake was pissed.

This is wrong, all wrong. Somehow he recieved an evil power which would cause the gods to leave him trapped in the Underworld Groove. Well done Evie and Tera...

The damned Orthodox doesn't seem like its done talking...

"Its all my fault anyways for asking."

[...Embers of evil]

'Damnation...'

[Position: Switched Attributes]

"Wait what..."

[Flaw: Dormant.. powers of your curses withheld your flaw... ]

[A possiblity that your attributes might switch back after first trial...]

A possiblity, not a fact. Infact, it takes only luck. And luck right now was far from him. He turned to face the ladies who still waited patiently for him to be done.

"I don't know, is there no other way out of the Underworld?"

"Didn't the gods bless you?"

Tera asked and Blake's face turned absolutely dark...

"I am a descendant of a hidden gods of intense calamity. A barrier to all human's existence, a monument of fate... now does that ring a bell? They are evil attributes." A wicked smile plopped on his face as Tera's face was filled with dread. Evie on her own part looked calm and collected.

"I knew something like this was bound to happen. Remember Tera, he got blessed after his first kill in the underworld."

Blake was now angry.

"And so fucking what? You both are to he blamed entirely for this."

"We thought you were a vile creature." Tera chimed in.

"Yea, great." Blake scoffed.

"Calm down, sometimes they normally do switches upon the first trial in becoming a CrestFallen. There's a possiblity that your Attributes was switched." Evie reminded him and Blake sighed realising that the Orthodox said same thing.

"Possibility doesn't tell that it will..."

Suddenly, the whole land shuddered terribly making all three of them to jolt by the sudden quake. The shokewave was so intense that even the earth started to rip apart. The slopey hill was coming off due to its shudder and then the soft sand shook as if being trampled upon by a certain strong force of inertia. Before he could even comprehend what was going on, the Orthodox Crane said in a harmonious tune.

[You are in the body of a Fallen Calamity...\©Hawk of Doom\. You have mere hours to get to Linards Mountain before it awakens...]

Capítulo 8: Monument Of Fate[Linards Mountain, a Floating Isle And a god of War.]

What the heck???

How the heck did they get into the body of a [Fallen Calamity]?

Plus, what kind of a trial is this that would endanger their life to the extreeme... especially when your class is just [Dormant]

No special powers, plus insane attributes being switched. The reason for that switch was because, there were certain kind of humans who derive pleasure in killing their kind so as to grow much stronger. That was why the switch came to be. Your attributes would be switched with someone elses so as to see if the attribute will be matching. Attributes depicts what a person would turn out to be, if your attribute is being switched and you instantly turn to behave like that attributes then, you would be left with it and also an inanimose conclusion that you will never leave the Underworld Groove. For now, Blake doesn't seem evil like the switched attributes. So his chances of being given back his main attributes were considered.

Just as they were busy, contemplating on what to do, shards of a shattered bone shot into the air and exploded raining down splinters which they all dodged because the concurrent state of the splintered bone was able to pierce them good. Inflicting a high amound of injury that goes deep into the skin.

'What a piece of crap...'

The damned creature seemed to be half awake. What was the Orthodox saying about him having mere hours to leave the land?

"We cannot inflict a single harm on the [Hawk Of Doom] so don't even think about it. Its a [Fallen Calamity]."

Tera said and Blake knew that she was right.

Probably, they had seen the way he was looking at the island and then at the possible place which looked like the creature's body part. They must have guessed that he was trying to study it so as to ^Stand and Fight^ that was why Tera spoke.

"Blake, did you bring us here to die?"

Evie asked nimbly and Blake's eyes shot up towards her with a snap.

"What happened to teleportation? You are both witches."

Blake scoffed. Right, both witches and humans was restricted from teleportation once in the strange world. Suddenly, the land quivered ince again with a ferrrous growl to indicate that something was really awakening from below or above. Anyone of these is quite dangerous. Immediately, half the eastern part of the mysterious land was coming off and the earth dividing into parts. The next minute, tremors shook the land and a large chunk of sand sank deep within as if being swallowed by the earth itself. Or probably, the inner sand walls is being constantly ripped which makes the upper land to go down.

Looking above, the sky was now getting rid of the darkness as a velvety blue light skimmered, telling the approach of a new day.

They knew that if the day becomes brighter than this, then the creature might rise instantly taking this isle down in one go and if they waste any time, they might end up being dragged down alongside the destroyed isle.

The trio moved in a quickened pace along the path where the earth hasn't been destroyed by the awakening creature.

The [Hawk Of Doom] is a resilience creature of death who hibernates for almost 2 decades which is 20 years. It only awakens at the approach of a new day and goes back to sleep instantly. The land whereby Blake was being transported to was known as Ashen Barrow. Ashen Barrow has a night which takes up to 24 hours and continues like that. The day comes once every two decades which breaks the spell of the creatures hibernate.

Right now, they needed to venture deeper so as to locate Linards Mountain. They have transversed deeper wondering when they would leave the isle. Ashen Barrow waas a really vasty land. Infact it was full of earth that their journey became endless. Besides, Linards Mountain was a lot farther. It was so many island away from Ashen Barrow. But now, they were completely taken aback by a sudden shockwave which permeated the ground rippling the earth. Plus they did not know which route to take.

"Where do we go next? I mean, which way exactly? Half the land is almost torn apart, which would lead to other parts of the island being destroyed. East is gone, Northern land will end up putting our lives at risk due to the abomination that flocks about."

Evie said.

"There is no other option here for us. Let's use the Northern pathway. It might lead us there although, there might be danger but we still would be able to get Linards Mountain before the corrupted creature awakens."

***

Finally, they seemed to reached the end of the Ashen Barrow. The land had already quaked its limit and more shards of the land were pouring and descending non-stop.

But, wait a moment...

The isle seems to be floating. It was like a floating island which was held in the air by a suspended magic not willing to let it go. And below was a vast deep expanse. Like an endless abyss that no one would like to fall into. More or so, it looked dark and stark. Molliuds of eerie reeking below capable of rendering even the fearless immortal into nothing.

Just a distance away, the next isle hovered in the air with no other means to get to it.

Once again, the isle rumbled chaotically and they almost stumbled into the dark expanse..

"Careful guys,"

Evie said and Blake cursed inwardly.

Before Blake could think of something, Tera stepped forward and her hands started glimmering with silvery sparkle. A short dagger appeared right into her hand and she sliced her wrist, letting blood drop to the base of the isle.

The silvery glow consumed the drops of blood as if combusting it the way wood is combusted for heat. A weak glow rippled constantly and suddenly gleamed powerfully and sparky lines connected the Ashen Barrow to the next isle and immediately, Evie ran past the silvery lines been drawn out by Tera's magic as she stepped foot on the next island. Blake stepped on it and it was like, a marble floor was invisibly built, strong and formiddable able to take his weight. Plus it was cold on his barefoot.

It was as if the silvery lines were covered in invisible, impregnable and deep moat that one was able to go across over and Tera too crossed the bridge-line.

Instantly, her lights grew dimmer as the power of the blood she sacrificed have been used up to run the spell and now that the blood was being exhausted, the silvery glow weakened. The lines creates suddenly turned weak and disintegrated only the silver radiance was left elated which Tera herself decided to turn off completely. At least, they reached the next isle.

Immediately, they crossed, Ashen Barrow made one last shudder only for it to split apart in halves. Then, the isle they stood on right now shuddered indicating that it was the next to be ripped apart due to the creature's awakening.

The trio darted off instantly without wasting much time.

They travelled across islands that were barren and stark, and across islands that were lush with beautiful verdue. Across islands that teemed with Vile abominations, and islands that were full of nothing but bones and ash. The shudder and destruction still followed them back to back.

It wasn't long before a day arrived when a dark line became visible far away, and it was over the northern horizon. When Blake saw it first, he stood motionlessly for a while, looking north with a dark expression.

The northern island was not too large, maybe two kilometers in diameter. Its surface was one vast level plain, and covered entirely by a beautiful field of violet flowers, as if wrapped in a silken mantle. Despite the fact that the morning was now, the buds was still closed. Right now, the Orthodox Crane was no where to be seen and Blake could still hear the rumbling of the previous isles coming off with full force. The main law regarding this world is that, when the [Hawk of Doom] awakens, it destroys everything, humans, creatures... islands, until it goes back to a very long nap after the long day. Eventually, habitualities would begin to reform and isles would begin to regenerate, like a Monument of Fate that goes through a certain cycle of evil only to come back to its previous state. Right now, only a war god can stop this creature.

The isles were tearing apart with full force. The creature was coming awake slowly. The velvety bluish color of the sky was gone and replaced with a bright blue and white with the sun yet to rise from the east...

'Spoke to soon...'

The sun was rising from the west.

A sudden shudder penetrated the isle they stood on to take a rest and they assumed that the destruction was only an island away from them so they resumed travelling real quick.
