Capítulo 33: Chapter 32 *Edited*
Outside a cafe, two people can be spotted leaving both with blushing faces, while holding each others hands (Perverts). These two people that seem to be in their teens can be recognised as May and Brendan, both extremely embarrassed but both with happy looks.
"May" Brendan says, almost in a whisper. "I'm gonna go battle to gym now I gotta get my fifth bagde, you want to watch?" May, perked up at the offer, accepts, wanting to see her best friend now boyfriend battle for his fifth gym badge.
"My dad told me when you get up to your fifth gym badge thats when the gym circuit starts to increase in difficulty". May says out loud to Brendan, still thinking to herself. Brendan hearing this nods.
"Of course it is, the gym leaders are able to use some of their Pokemon from their main teams if so choose to". Brendan says. "But even if they beat you and your up to standard they can still give you the badge." May hears this and nods, remembering her time at trainer school when this was mentioned.
Brendan and May, after a little back and forth, both make their way to the next gym that Brendan will need to battle. While walking both Brendan and May can see how peaceful and vibrant the town is. You can see kids running around with Pokemon playing tag and hide-n-seek, all laughing and enjoying their time. With most trainers still not in this area because of how far it is from the first few gyms on the left side of the region, it isn't the most visited for new trainers.
Brendan and May, arriving in front of the gym, enter the door. Looking around, the place looks smaller than a standard gym but still a cosy looking place with a sweet home vibe. May, now separated from Brendan, walks towards the stands waiting for Brendan to have his battle.
Brendan seeing this walks up to the counter, on the other side of the counter can be seen a man seemingly in his 40s with light red hair and a fit body. This person is the ex gym-leader of this gym before he gave it to his daughter.
"Hello trainer, seems to me that it's finaly your turn to versus my daughter in a Pokemon battle rookie". He says with a smug smile. Brendan with his bulging head, wants to hit this guy badly but restrains himself, focusing back. Brendan replies, wanting to get to the arena immediately.
"Hello sir im here to have my gym battle thats reserved for me this afternoon". Brendan replies
"Yes yes head to the elevator next to me it's the way to your platform". The man says "Goodluck by the way you will need it". The man says in an insulting and joking manner right before the elevator door closes pissing off Brendan.
Brendan, now exiting the elevator enters a hallway similar to the one in Mauville city. 'Why cant gyms be as simple as dads and Roxannes gym'. Brendan groans inwardly, still scared of the dark.
Exiting through the door, Brendan is met with bright lights to his eyes, making him stumble back a bit, not before walking forward, regaining himself. In the arena can be seen a crowd not fully covering the whole stadium, but has a crowd equally spread out with a lot of cheering. Seeing the lively crowd Brendan gueses that there was just a battle that ended.
In the opposite side of Brendan's podium can be seen a girl of similar age with light red hair with a sadistic grin plastered on her face. Brendan quickly looks up at one of the monitors, and sees how brutally Flannery crushed her latest opponent with an overheat, sending the poor guy back to the Pokecentre.
"Hey trainer!" Flannery shouts across "Good luck, hopefully you're more of a challenge than the last guy!" She shouts, making Brendan a little pissed being reminded of the guy at the counter.
'Guess i'll need to give this little sh*t a beating now, won't I?' Brendan says, inwardly looking forward to the battle'. Flannery sees Brendan ignore her, loses her smile, and takes a Pokeball out of her pockets.
"Trainers in position! This battle will be between an official gym battle between Flannery the gym leader and Brendan from littleroot town!" The referee shouts, hyping up the crowd. Brendan looking to the stands for a little bit, sees May and waves towards her. May seeing Brendan wave to her waves back.
This makes Flannery even more pissed shouts for the match to start. The referee, a bit flustered starts to speak. "This will be a 4 on 4 battle as requested by the challenger and only the challenger can switch out once! BEGIN!" The referee shouts. Both trainers hearing this, send out their Pokemon.
Pokemon: Torkoal (Deep Yellow)
"Torkoal!"
"Swampert!"
