Capítulo 1689: At a Time Like This

Qu Xiao seemed to be a little frightened from the attack. He did not speak and only stayed in the room. The imperial physician who followed him examined him and said that he would be fine after he recovered from the shock. Then, he made a calming soup and handed it to Qu Xiao with both hands.

Qu Xiao felt better after drinking it.

The Cloud Guards stood guard outside Qu Xiao's room.

Qu Xiao was still a little sleepy, probably because he had drunk the calming soup. The chamberlain helped him sleep, and then they all retreated and stood guard outside the room.

It wasn't until nighttime that a servant carried a rather large food box in to serve the Dongxiao Emperor dinner. 

Not long after, the guards heard a scream from inside that the Emperor had disappeared.

The Cloud Guards were shocked and rushed in. They searched every corner of the huge room, but they couldn't find any traces of Qu Xiao.
