The road randomly became filled with guards. They all stalked the carriage silently, though they didn't look like they wanted to attack it anytime.

'Three, four, five mages circling around us?'

With her Gift, Savine counted the surrounding guards.

'Isn't this kinda extra?' she couldn't help but wonder. 'I suppose the rich have their means. And from what I've heard, the old mage is sick. Considering his fame, he should have quite a few enemies as well. Who knows how many people want him dead.'

Suddenly, the amount of mages didn't feel so extra anymore.

'I wonder how Eliseline will do against such mage-guards? Oh, I wonder how a mage of Balint's caliber do against them? Since he's hailed as one of the greatest mages in the world… he should have an easy time against these enemies right?'

"By the way, compared to Balint, how strong are you?"
