Capítulo 32: Conditions
The contents of the secret deal were something like this.
The Alchemy Association would offer its pellets at a discounted price to the City Lord's Mansion. Furthermore, the City Lord would be offered precedence over the five different pellet types whose pill formula Nie Li had distributed.
Naturally, the City Lord had to pay the price for that. There were two conditions set by the Alchemy Association, more specifically, by Nie Li. In reality, Nie Li had used the Alchemy Association as the middleman to negotiate with the City Lord. The City Lord had no idea that he wasn't negotiating with the Alchemy Association but a brat.
The first was to ostracize the Sacred Family. It implied breaking ties with the Sacred Family.
The City Lord Ye Zong didn't like this condition at all. He knew that there would be grave consequences if he accepted this condition. The Sacred Family would be furious and might even plot a rebellion.
However, Nie Li explained the condition a bit more to the City Lord. He wanted the Snow Wind Family to break their ties with the Sacred Family, but only covertly. They could keep up the pretense of getting along while secretly investigating the Sacred Family and taking action against the wicked individuals.
This would allow the Snow Wind Family to preserve the peace within the Glory City and also figure out what the Sacred Family was planning.
The situation had been worrying since that explosion occurred in the Sacred Family's forest occurred.
Even though Shen Hong had declared that he had nothing to do with that explosion. The Noble Families still couldn't help but be worried. The tiny possibility of the Sacred Family lying about this terrified them.
Typically, Ye Zong wouldn't have accepted such a condition. But the situation was too grave, and it was forcing his hand. Thus, he accepted Nie Li's condition.
Nie Li's second condition was somewhat personal, and it completely dumbfounded Ye Zong. He couldn't understand why the Alchemy Association would set up such a condition.
The second condition specifically stated, "Order Ye Ziyun to break ties with Shen Yue. This is non-negotiable."
After some time, Ye Zong stopped thinking about this matter. He decided that he would ask the president of the Alchemy Association during their next meeting.
For now, he sent a letter to the Alchemy Association stating that he accepted their terms.
On that very same day, Ye Zong ordered his daughter to break ties with Shen Yue. It would greatly benefit the Snow Wind Family.
Ye Ziyun couldn't believe that her father was asking her such a thing! How could she do something like that?
However, Ye Ziyun couldn't ignore her father's order. This was how she was brought up. She returned to her room and sobbed for the whole night.
The next day, Alan arrived in the class. Xiao Ning'er greeted him with a bright smile. Alan talked to her before taking his usual seat. He noticed that Ye Ziyun wasn't sitting in her usual spot. In fact, she was seated on another bench today.
She saw Alan and gave him a bitter smile before turning her gaze. Alan raised his brow as he saw that expression. As he observed carefully, Alan noticed that her cheeks were swollen.
This was a really drastic change. Was she unhappy that Alan stood up for Xiao Ning'er against Shen Fei?
Alan didn't consider her to be such an envious woman. If this was the case, he had to fix that.
In the meantime, Nie Li also noticed Ye Ziyun's swollen cheeks. He was extremely saddened to see this sight, but he firmly believed it was necessary.
Huyan Lanruo entered the class and was delighted to see an empty spot next to Alan. This was originally Ye Ziyun's spot, but Huyan Lanruo occupied it today!
She hugged his right arm and pressed it against her rather large assets while speaking, "…I heard you went up against Shen Fei for Xiao Ning'er. I hope you will do the same for big sis."
"Get away from him!" Xiao Ning'er spoke with a frustrated tone. She was really angry at this harlot who used her noticeable assets to sway Alan's mind.
"Hmph! You shouldn't talk to your elders like that," Huyan Lanruo spoke. She slipped a piece of paper into Alan's pocket secretly. The paper stated, "I know all that you want to know."
After a couple of hours, Alan went to the library to meet Huyan Lanruo.
In the meantime, Nie Li approached Ye Ziyun.
He informed her that he had a cultivation technique perfect for her. This technique was known as the Nine Revolving Ice Technique.
Ye Ziyun didn't wish to accept this gift, but Nie Li insisted. He mentioned that it was useless for him, and he just wanted to help her.
Ye Ziyun finally accepted that technique while telling him that she would owe him a favor.

"So, what have you found out from Elder Ming?" Alan asked Huyan Lanruo.
Huyan Lanruo had a teasing smile on her face as she heard that question. She spoke, "Before I tell you about that, won't you apologize for yesterday?"
"I did nothing wrong. You were messing with me, and I returned the favor. Nothing more than that," Alan spoke without batting an eye.
Huyan Lanruo was even more amused upon hearing that explanation. She wanted to continue teasing him but knew that Alan would leave the room if she did that. Thus, she got straight to the topic.
"Elder Ming informed me that Nie Li is a once-in-a-generation genius in Alchemy. He has easily resolved questions that have troubled even the most senior and influential alchemists. Moreover, he even handed over five rare pill formulae to the Alchemy Association. Apparently, he has a mysterious master who taught him alchemy!"
"A mysterious master?" Alan disdainfully smiled. Wasn't Nie Li just creating an empty legend?
