Aslan took off his shoes and sat down in front of Rosie. The girl took out two layers of white bread and then filled it with strawberry jam. Rosie then gave it to Aslan first and made another jam sandwich for her.
"What are all these spices for?" asked Aslan, peering into the lunch basket Rosie had brought.
"These? For our dinner of course," the girl answered happily.
Aslan knew what Rosie wanted. His wife wanted to make food that came from nature. Not far from where they camped, there was a river. Aslan knew because he buried Lily not far from the river.
After finishing his lunch, Aslan lay down and placed his head gently on Rosie's lap, while the girl was still chewing and hadn't finished her lunch.
"After this, what should we do?" he asked again.
