Howland and Aslan stood behind Rosie like two guards on alert. Now Rosie brought back a suitcase full of money. Howland had met Savy, but he was too late because Savy had got into her carriage, leaving the bar with her father and brother. 

Howland could only watch and then went back to Rosie to take her home. However, when he got there, he found Rosie sitting on Aslan's lap while taking out some cards that Aslan was holding.

Howland wanted to take Rosie back right away. It wasn't good for the girl to linger in a place like this. He couldn't let other nobles see them, especially Rosie. However, the girl refused. Rosie said she wanted to finish one game first.
