During the past couple of weeks at the office, Madison and I tried to keep our relationship professional... but at times I was weak, and she was too. We knew that there was probably a rumor starting about the two of us, but neither of us cared.
I was even showing up at Alex's school to help Carol with the school runs like a lovesick teenager. To say things were going well between Madison and I was an understatement. We were on a different level than we had been back in high school; neither of us were kids anymore.
"Hey, what are you doing here?" Madison asked as I came to pick her up from work on a Sunday morning. She should have been resting, like everyone else after a long week at the office. I'd just dropped the kids with Mom, and Madison's tired eyes told me she hadn't had a good day.
I pulled out a rose I had hidden behind my back. "¡Mina, this is for you."
