"By the way, how was the trial? You know I was absent."
"Hmm, of course." He chuckled. "And uncle Sebastian too." He cleared his throat when she raised an eyebrow. "Well, it was pathetic. What more could I say?"
Slightly scrunching her brows, she remarked, "Pathetic?"
Keeping quiet for a while, he leaned closer, "Jin-joo, to be sincere with you, uncle Seb's family took an upper hand than us."
"Are you kidding?"
"Huh? Does it sound like a joke?" Helplessly shaking his head, he sighed, "It was awful. There were so many flaws stated on us."
"Flaws? Kang-dae, please go straight to the point." Jin-joo was so nervous and emphasizing to know deeply. She's afraid what might happen next.
"Hey, what are you feeling so curious and nervous about? I was going to tell you." Gelling his hair backwards, he shrugged, "The judge stated that if we couldn't find the culprit in one month time, then he'll call off the case."
Widening her eyes in shock, she squealed, "What?!"
Shoving the fries into his mouth, "Uh huh, you can ask doc for more information." He shrugged.
Muttering words silently while tilting her head sideways. Jin-joo stroke her hands through her face and took a deep breath. What could she possibly do in a situation like this? This issue has been going on for a long while now, yet there's no solution coming up.
She's in a difficult situation between heaven and hell. Her fiancé is in the side of the anonymous. And she's already attached to that. On the other hand, she's an orphan even before her biological parents' death. Could life be more easy on her a little bit?
Holding her hand in his, Kang-dae gave her a slight nod and faint smile of 'It's gonna be alright, I gat your back'
Cupping her cheeks, she nodded.
"Doc and grandma are helping us too." He stated.
Helplessly jerking his hand off, she sighed. "Kang-dae, for how long? The real suspect is out there busy roaming around here in the city and yet we still don't know who it actually is. Doesn't it look out of hand to you?"
Nodding his head in disagreement, "I have hope. One day we'll find the suspect and we'll make sure she's locked up behind bars for the rest of her life–
"How long?" She snapped with tears rolling down her cheeks. Her voice caused a huge shock to everyone present in the restaurant.
Wiping her eyes with an handkerchief, she added, "You just said that the judge is giving us a month to rally on this issue. So tell me, have we found a suspect yet?"
"Listen, we–"
"No! Am sick and tired of the particular thing." Sniffing her nose, she tried to control her emotions, "I took revenge on Sebastian without making a proper investigation. They've been suffering because unknowing to me, they were the one."
"All we need to do, I suggest we fish out more evidence from the Flynns. I mean–" Kang-dae slightly smacked his forehead. "Make a family gathering, I mean, internal and external. Thereby mom could easily fish out the culprit. What do you think?"
Snapped her fingers, she vigorously nodded with mouth wide open, "Ah, oh dear God, you're such a genius."
Shrugging his shoulders with a wide proud look on his face, "Told ya."
Expanding her grin, she shook her head excitedly, "Precisely! This is exceptional. It's gonna work."
"So...do I get a free ticket into the mansion tonight?" He grinned.
Letting out a mockery chuckle, she remarked, "Still need to talk to Seb first. You'll sleep over at my place."
.....
Evening,
Sebastian and Jin-joo's place
With his hands wrapped around her, he carefully guided her into the mansion. "Watch your steps."
"Yeah–ahhh!" She winced when something inwardly pinched her.
"Honey–" He panicked and quickly moved to her front. Holding her face in his hands, "Are you okay?"
Placing her hands on his shoulders, she tight-lipped her lips and vigorously nodded.
Without saying anything, he scooped her in his arms and made his way towards the stairs, "I'll take you upstairs and then change your clothes, okay?"
Hooking her hands around his neck, she sighed, "Seb, you're just coming. You must be tired. I'll do all of that myself."
"Shh, you talk too much." He pecked her lips.
"Oh great, now I can't utter a single word because if I do, I always talk too much." She rolled her eyes at him.
"Did you just rolled your eyes at me?" He asked with a deadpan face.
"Uh huh, duh uh." She flicked his forehead and stick her tongue out at him.
.....
Placing her on the bed, he took off her shoes. When she tried to sit up, he slowly pushed her to lay back. Taking his blazer and tie off, he tossed them on the couch and sat on the bed side to unlace his shoes.
"Are you sure you don't need my help?"
"Nope." He stood up and started unbuttoning his sleeves and then his pants.
Wedging herself upwards with her both hands behind her on the bed. She roam her eyes on ever single part of his upper brawly body.
Gulping down in anticipation, she bit her lower lip when her eyes flicked on the V line at his abdomen.
When he stood up to get a towel from the towelettes, she clutched her hands on the bed sheets as soon as her eyes darted on his skinny white boxer which was hugging everything huggable.
Coming out of the walk-in closet with a white towel tied around his waist, he raised his brows when he saw her fully stripped naked on the bed with legs wide open.
"Okay, what are you doing?" He chuckled.
Because he sounded somehow serious, she shut her legs and sat up properly. Clearing her throat, "Well umm..." She tuckled a strand of hair behind while trying to avoid his handsome gaze, "I...I umm...I feel hot in here."
When she started fanning her face, he sighed and made his way towards the AC's switch. Increasing the velocity, "Still hot?"
