Capítulo 144: The engagement banquet (6)

Hearing Phoenix's introduction, Cecilia cocked one of her brow.

At first, she was just staring at Phoenix's face. But then she scanned Phoenix from top to bottom. 

When she was done, Cecilia flashed a political smile. Her eyes were shielding her true feelings towards Phoenix. 

"Owh! You're Intan Lo's adopted daughter," Cecilia said.

Phoenix gave a curt nod, "Yes, I am, Madam Han, she replied. Pausing, Phoenix continued, "Here's a gift from mom. She's sorry that she couldn't come to this event," Phoenix said. She brought forward the gift that she was holding in her hand towards Cecilia.

Cecilia glanced at the gift in Phoenix's hand and signalled a helper at her side to pick the gift from Phoenix.

"Put it with the other gifts," he ordered.

The attendant took the gift from Phoenix and placed it on the table where the other gifts were placed.
