"You are going to pay for this, Savannah!" Sharlene growled. It was one thing to harm her, but no one messed with her younger sister.
Not feeling any intimidation, Savannah replied without glancing back. "You should be happy, Sharlene. Last time, Jack drooled over me. I can only guess that he fell in love with you since you carry his offspring and his sacred mark thanks to me and Rex."
Sharlene's fists shook angrily at her hips as she did whatever she could to not look at Jack in the eyes. What she witnessed her sister go through, she knew Jack could easily fall out of love with her because they weren't destined mates. Not to mention, they were by far passed the ages to even have mates. The natural flow of love wasn't something Sharlene trusted because it was easy to fall out of love.
"Aw, I guess you don't feel the same," Savannah was sure to flaunt it because she could detect the pain in Jack's heart. Just because she couldn't seduce him didn't mean she couldn't find another way to hurt his heart.
"That's it!" Sharlene growled before she flew into the air without waiting for Kai's go-ahead to launch the attack.
Amidst her attack, the other vampiresses followed through. Like a wave, the vampiresses collided with each other. Skirts and cute outfits were getting torn as they clawed at each other like vicious lionesses. In a matter of seconds, blood was saturating the pavement as these malicious vampiresses were mutilating each other's flesh with their fangs and claws.
To help them out, the vampires formed an entire circle to stop anyone from escaping. A handful of vampires joined the fight after some of their females got detained.
Helping Sharlene, Rose clawed Savannah's face when she tried to escape her by fleeing in mid-air. The hard impact sent her body slamming into the pavement. Around Savannah, her friends were getting mauled by the vampires she didn't have under her enchantment. Her bestie Nina got her throat ripped into and shredded by Mia and Ivan. In less than counting to ten on her fingers, Nina was detained, and it was the same for her other friends. Before Savannah could flee again, a firm hold tightened around her neck when Jack lifted her dead-weight body off of the pavement.
"Not so tough now, are you?" he was sure to disparage her in her defeat.
Her eyes scanned everywhere as she stifled in Jack's grasp. None of her other friends made it. Savannah was the only one left.
"My defeat doesn't ensure you'll reach Victoria!" Savannah gritted her bloody fangs as it was her last time to lash out.
Rather harshly, Jack threw her to the pavement as her body whomped with a rather loud crack from the impact. Her lip was bleeding, and her body was all scratched up with multiple cuts. Even her smutty dress was torn and dirty.
A pair of high heel boots clanked to her, and Savannah peered up at these angry red eyes blazing in enmity.
By Savannah's pretty hair, Sharlene pulled her up onto her knees and scoffed at her misfortune. "You've had this coming!" she spat.
Into the roots of her hair, Sharlene viciously dug her claws into Savannah's scalp before she raked them back like a comb was brushing through her hair as she scalped her. Streaks of blood rolled down her forehead before it dripped around her eyelids, and then blood rolled along her cheeks and over her plumped lips that screamed bloody murder. Then Sharlene was fast to impale her fangs into her neck. Exceedingly slow, she drinks her blood.
Savannah's beauty decolored, and her skin wrinkled yellow before it crusted into a brown. Sharlene made sure she suffered for all the pain and damage she inflicted on her, Jack, and even her sister. With a loud thud, her mummified body plummeted to the pavement. All the vampires who were under Savannah's spell snapped awake when it had finally lifted.
"Holy Cow, that was torture," Rome was the first to say as he finally felt like he could think on his own and breathe, for that matter.
Alas, a lot of the vampires were joyous, but the ones that were married had such tremendous aching in their hearts for what had happened.
"I know you want to go after your wives, but I really need your help," Kai pleaded to them since he knew what they were thinking.
"After we get Victoria back, we promise we'll help make this right with the vampiresses," Evan added since he knew they were in pain because of it. Divorce wasn't something they did in the Covens unless it was absolutely necessary. First, they always tried to keep families together because it weighed the hardest on the offspring.
"We'll help," one of the guardians agreed, and everyone else nodded that they would assist.
"A few of you need to stay behind and get the detained vampiresses back to the mansion safely. The rest of us need to go now." Kai bade his orders before he quickly zoomed off.
Elevated in the sky, he took a big whiff through his nostrils, but still, he couldn't smell Victoria's scent anywhere. He was just about to turn in another direction when he distinctly heard the crying sound of his offspring.
"This way!" he shouts, and the others pursue him.
His heart was thumping since he could recognize the cry from his most dominant offspring, which was also the first baby to reveal itself before he knew Victoria was pregnant with triplets. Just as they flew over a line of business buildings, the crying ceased before Kai could trace a full signal on it.
At the edge of these thick woods, Kai landed with the large group.
"My offspring was crying for me, but I lost the signal, and I still can't pick up a scent," Kai informed everyone as failure crushed his heart.
Seeing he was solemnly giving up, Evan motivated him. "If you heard one of your offspring for a mere second. That means Victoria is fighting. You need to fight back too."
From feeling gloominess and doubtful, Kai peered up at the woods, and so suddenly it clicked in his head.
"The vampiresses wouldn't travel too far from their clan. These woods would make a perfect hunting ground and hiding place. My offspring's cry came around this area," Kai pondered outwardly.
"They're definitely in the woods!" Ivan exclaimed as his memory jarred. "There's an old abandoned mansion back there."
Very quietly, Kai walked forward with everyone else behind him. In a fast stealthy speed, they zipped around trees, and at about seven miles in, which took them less than six minutes to reach, they all caught the scent of Rex's clan.
"Summon everybody. We're going to war," Kai declared as his ire eyes narrowed in the direction of the abandoned mansion.
