I took a breath and swallowed the lump in my throat. Just as I did, my eyes caught the sight of that vampiress who told me to end my life. With a mockery smirk, she devoured me whole and enjoyed the savor of my pain. My chest tightened, but being strong-willed, I refused to let her feed off my emotions.
I pushed my jealousy aside, but then worry drowned my mind. Orlando, my friends, and everyone else I knew came to a masked ball that is full of dangerous vampires and vampiresses.
"Why is Orlando and everyone else here?" I asked, worrying.
Rose casually replied, "They always attend because they're made from money."
"Nobody told me," I murmured, and then I turned away, taking off.
"Victoria!" Ava addressed, but I didn't care to hear whatever she wanted to say.
So I went down the imperial staircase and strode through the crowd of people, vampires, and vampiresses. I ignored the fact that vampires were smirking fiendishly at me and carried on between two pillars, which led me to a different room. However, even this large area was full of dark creatures and people, socializing. I sprint onward past these large columns and kept going from there until the crowd lessened to barely anyone around. Going to this one room, I stopped in my tracks, still as can be. Bent back in the arms of a vile vampire, this woman was being fed on.
"...ah." A light stifle moan escaped the woman's lips. "Help..."
Dull eyes stare upon me as the life in her eyesight was dimming. My heart bled to see she is the very young woman that did my makeup and dressed me for the ball. Delicately, his lips sucked the flesh on her throat, where he drained her blood dry and life into darkness.
Once finished, he hissed in pleasure to get his fix for blood. Right afterward, another minion vampire appeared in a red dress shirt. He took the dead woman from him and vanished.
I sorta recoiled when the vampire's eyes found mine. He partly struts toward me with this emotionless expression, and his eyes were tame, but still alarming.
"I'm sure your mate has taught you to keep quiet," he spoke softly, yet it was laced with warning.
"Yes." I kept my reply short and simple. Seemingly satisfied with my answer, he walked off and left from there. I exhaled a heave and held my chest to try to calm down. Once I did, my gaze stared off into the room. To the left was an indoor rocky fish pond with a waterfall. Overall, the room was a lovely indoor garden. I went to the stone thick backless bench, and took a seat by the dreamy clear pond. At that point, I lost myself on these colorful large fantail goldfish.
Gentle as a breeze, "Victoria, my child," Emily's voice emitted into the room.
I looked over and saw she entered through an opposite entrance. She took a seat beside me and engulfed me with a huge hug. "We've all been so worried about you."
"I'm ok, I promise," I assured her after we hugged, but I could tell she didn't believe me.
"No, you aren't alright." Emily disagreed. "You are far from it, and that is not ok."
"Nothing can be changed," I whispered sadly and looked away from her toward the water.
Till she held my chin up to stare into my sight, and said. "Never lose hope. Crystal told me you feel trapped because you are pregnant. If you let me help you, I can get rid of the problem."
I lightly freed my chin and asked, upset. "You mean by killing my baby?"
She touched my shoulder to settle me. "Honey, I know it sounds cruel, but you mustn't feel trapped," Emily empathized. "This isn't right."
I pushed her hand off and stood from the stone seat. "It's not right to kill an innocent life!"
"Your bab..." Emily got up but stopped her utterance as if to avoid what she was going to say. "Your baby with Kai is keeping you snared to him," she carefully rephrased. "Orlando loves you. You can restart a family with him."
"Orlando has moved on," I said, firmly.
"He's made a mistake, but I can assure you, he hasn't moved on," Emily smiled. "Ashley is nothing more than a friend to him."
"Yet, he keeps making these mistakes," I asserted strongly.
"I know, and he's been troubled by it too," she claimed. "Just give him a chance and you'll see, but first, you must abort Kai's baby."
I shook my head, and was visceral about the idea of doing something unthinkable.
"Emily Mills, how dare you!" this broad voice clamors.
I turned to see Mr. Collin and Mrs. Collin came in from the entrance behind me. I shifted aside and stood like a spaced triangle toward the ice and fire, sizzling hotly. Emily snickered with the most malicious chuckle I'd ever heard her express. Pure evilness thrived within her with the abhorrence she had for them.
"It's nice to see you Gaston and Morticia," Emily sneered as their names rolled off her tongue like vomit, and she eyed Mrs. Collin's pregnant belly like she carried a disease. "I see you two are expecting another worthless child like your other two sons, Chester and Kai."
"How dare you say that about my sons!" Mrs. Collin spat, and I saw her fist clenched like she wanted to hit her.
"Emily, my dear, are you alright," Dwight came charging and held his wife's waist. He then glared fiendishly at Mr. and Mrs. Collin. Like the situation wasn't bad enough, this has to take place.
"I'm fine," Emily replied and beguiled her voice innocently to her husband. "I was talking to Victoria until we were rudely interrupted."
"YOU!" Mr. Collin gnashed his teeth in such vex. Never once have I seen him so enraged. And that's saying something because Kai fights with him all the time, but he's never made his dad this angry.
"Gaston, please don't start your nonsense," Dwight interferes. "It's bad enough that your son Chester stole Zoey from my son CJ. Now your son Kai imprisons Victoria away from my nephew Orlando. Then he almost killed my daughter Crystal!"
"You have some nerve Dwight Mills," Mr. Collin snarled. "We know that isn't true."
"Maybe you should ask Victoria how she feels?" Emily put me in the middle and I sighed. "Kai abducted her, forced a marriage on her, and a pregnancy! None of that is ok with me! After what Kai did to Crystal, your lucky we haven't pressed charges on that drunken son of yours!"
"Don't even go there, Emily!" Mrs. Collin retorted harshly, toned. "It's a shame on you for trying to manipulate Victoria into killing our grandbaby!"
