Capítulo 13: Chapter 13 : New Horizions

Ajel heard a knock on the door, and he opened it.

It was a man with an illuminator ring on, who quickly bowed.

"I have brung your items under the request of Senior Gomez."

Ajel shook his head, before sighing.

Had a week gone that fast?

Slowly retrieving the things, Ajel took them into the living room and dismissed the courier almost immediately.

The Freljord....

he was scared, to be honest.

The idea of a new environment scared him, not to mention the stories about the brutal tribal system in the Freljord.

But it could also be seen as an opportunity, as their regard to magic was one of respect, instead of fear or hatred like Demacia.

Which one of them they thought about Demacia is unclear, but it's probably fear.

Slowly examining the bag, Ajel saw what was packed.

a new identity, a bag, some clothes, and most importantly...

a leg?

"They probably gave it to you because the plain wood might not be able to withstand the bitter cold. It's a necessary precaution."

Ajel sighed, before shaking his head.

"Awek, what should I do in the Freljord?"

Awek only smiled, before shaking his head.

"Your parents,"

"My parents?" Ajel raised his eyebrow in surprise.

"You're a mage, Ajel. The whole story about you being saved and your parents getting eaten by a Silverwing raptor is a bit fishy, not to mention, even if they aren't alive, you could always look for the one that saved you."

"What makes you think they are in the Freljord?"

"Intuition, I don't know." Awek smiled. "Anyhow, I've got a gift for you."

It was a book, one without a cover like a book that instructed him on the magic before.

"This is?" Ajel raised his eyebrow to the book, before smiling. "Anyhow, thank you for the gift, Awek."

Awek laughed, before shaking his head. "I haven't even told you what it is but your already saying thank you. You've made a positive change, Ajel. This is why I trust you enough with this book."

He also handed him a black object, which made Ajel smile.

"The merchants came a week ago actually, but I just wanted to give you this when you leave, as another gift." Awek smiled.

It was a black eye patch nothing too serious just something to make sure the cold doesn't bother his eye.

"Thank you."

Ajel didn't bother with looking at the book right now, as it could be examined at a later date.

"Thank you, Awek." Ajel smiled, before going in and hugging Awek. "Thank you for the past three months."

"Don't worry about it." Awek smiled, before breaking away. "Im sure my daughter will be happy now that she has Uri by her side."

"Are you sure the consumption of food Uri will have will be okay?" Ajel muttered, which caused Awek to laugh.

"Of course." Awek laughed, "Anything for my daughter."

Ajel slowly got up and was ready to leave.

The border of the Freljord would be around a month's journey at most, and the bag contained a map and temporary food.

Luckily, he was a hunter and his prosthetic leg could help him move about more quickly than before.

"Ajel."

Ajel turned around, to see Awek look at him.

"If they ever stop looking for you, and your safe to go wherever, make sure to remember that you will always have a home with us," Awek said before Ajel nodded his head.

"I know," Ajel said. "Thank you."

It won't be the last time he will come to Demacia.

Afterall, it won't be the gallows that will take Sylas's head.

Ajel's face turned dark when he turned his back.

"Ajel! you forgot something!" A small girl came running out of a room, before handing him a spear with the symbol of the image seekers on it.

"Thank you, Noami. I will come back, and I'll make sure to get you a gift from the Freljord." Ajel smiled, before bending down and hugging Noami.

The new leg felt a lot stronger and more refined than the wooden one, and he could finally put more pressure on it without making it break so easily.

Ajell's eyes darkened as he slowly looked at aatthe spear, before putting it on his back, hidden from the black cloak he still had from the hunter.

The materials from the Silverwing were given to Awek as payment for the care he had gotten, so without any more problems, Ajel stepped out of the door and descended through the village with some difficulty.

Finally descending down the Greenfang mountains, Ajel planned to retrace the steps he took previously to get to Meltridge, and then he would climb the cliff that separated him from Freljord and successfully go through the border.

But first , he needed to get to Meltridge , and then go over to the Graygate.

He wasn't planning on going back to Uwendale , as he would get recognized, and...

and...

Ajel sighed as he had already missed the company of the family, but slowly got the book out of his bag and started to read it.

Ajel's face darkened when he saw what it was about, as he slowly returned the book to his bag.

He wondered if Awek was a fool or an idealist.

He shouldn't have trusted Ajel with this.

But he still did, and Ajel still highly respected him for that.

Slowly sighing , Ajel started his journey towards the bitter cold region of Freljord.
