Capítulo 147: Negotiation

"Please," Mico's voice, Merithel's system echoed in my head. "Whatever happens, don't let my sister suffer the same fate as me."

I opened my eyes and stared at the blinding sunlight. Sweat trickled on the side of my face. The ruined buildings and the brunt places made me cringe at the sight of it.

I'm sorry for the people returning to the ruins, especially the burnt ones. But I'm not sorry to the governor, who will undoubtedly spend lots and lots of money in order to repair what has been damaged.

The amount she would spend couldn't bring back Winter. So there was that disturbing fact. No matter how much it would cost for the entire Tollista to look like what it used to be, It can never bring the dead back to life.

"You seem to have a lot on your mind," Sab surprised me. I snorted. 

"You don't want to know the half of it."

"I gathered as much. But how are you holding up?"

I shrugged.
