Capítulo 28: Second date

As planned, Luca went to the nightclub she went to last night with Georgina and Xander. She took Nova with her, putting her in a handbag while she waited for that strange man. Sitting cross-legged by the bar counter, Luca swings her foot back and forth with her hand cupping her jaw.

The music that was playing in the background, along with the indistinct chattering of the crowd, amplified her increasing anxiety. Luca glanced back for the umpteenth time, hoping for that man to show up. Each minute that would pass, her rope of patience burned short.

"Where the hell is he?" Nova perked her head out of the handbag that was on the stool beside Luca. "It's been thirty minutes. Can't he just show up now so we know if we're just wasting our time or what?"

"Patience, Nova." Luca casually pet her before picking up the glass of margarita, which she chugged elegantly. She let out a sharp breath as she enjoyed the flavor inside her mouth, sliding the glass down on the counter.
