Capítulo 203: Ritual Chaos

The Camazotz were entirely black—mere silhouettes of branching wings and elongated arms sprawled against the midnight sky. They reminded Cora of very skinny gargoyles, and the way that they were frozen was like the vampires when they were convincing themselves not to attack. Perhaps this is where they inherited it from. 

Grayson and Rayth pulled her arms, wading down into the blood that sloshed thick against their shoes, and she shuffled her feet forward obediently, unable to draw her eyes away from what she was seeing above. The Camazotz were watching her, frozen in place, as if they had always been there in the sky waiting for this exact moment… as if they knew it was coming and were anticipating its arrival ever since the first time Cora saw them circling the palace.
