Capítulo 171: They Are Arriving

Grayson cursed under his breath. Apparently Ambrosia intended to take the opportunity of all realms being present in Gray Vale to formally induct Cora into the royal family. She was not going to wait for a wedding between Cora and Rayth. She was going to make Cora her daughter first. 

And Grayson knew exactly why she was doing it. It was brilliant, really. 

"You didn't know about it either?" Cora guessed, seeing the way Grayson's forehead creased in thought. 

"No, I didn't know. I'm sorry. If I had, I would have prepared you for it," he said solemnly, gritting his teeth together afterward. "Apparently Ambrosia is telling me less and less since I failed her assignment." 

"Assignment?" Cora repeated, and then a moment later, she understood. "To stop my heart?"

Grayson sighed, turning to stare at the rack of exquisite gowns. He noticed the slim red one that had likely created this revelation. "Yes," he answered simply.
