My 'death' had caused a rift between Emperor Hangzhi and King Damian. Damian had then withdrawn his troops from the Eastern Empire, returning to claim the Greecian Kingdom from the Lion clan, who'd been backing Alexis/Enzo.

Right now, the Emperor was receiving news of Damian's death in the throne room. Ren was pensively sat at his side, she seemed a shadow of her former self. 

I blamed myself for fleeing at the time, in fury and grief. 

"Yes, we thought it best to try and keep it that way before," the grey elder spoke up, making me frown. Who were they to decide what should be?
