Zeph's POV

Its mouth opened revealing its hideous teeth and its wings spread out. The two werewolves in their team had something like a metallic mesh, it was 3 meters long and 2 meters wide. They opened it and were holding it from each side, as it approached them they threw it on his face and pressed him backwards with all their force. The parts of his face which were touched by the mesh began to burn like he has been hit with acid. It shrieked so loudly that everyone covered their ears.

Schlangto jerked its head, rigorously to finally get rid of the mesh. It quickly moved backwards in a defensive position and began to analyze them. The werewolves had both transformed into their wolf forms. Meanwhile, Frela had her wand out. Paul and Aronis, who was a vampire had chains in their hands and both of them were standing on each side of Frela.

Schlangto had hundreds of arms and legs but two of the legs were long and had claws on them, which were also poisonous. I think their strategy was to bind its claws. As it got ready for the next attack, Frela moved her wand and thorny vines began to appear which crawled all over Schlangto binding him as it fell to the ground.

"Now," she shouted and both of them rushed forward to bind its claws with the chains they were holding. Both werewolves climbed onto their arms and tried to hold them down by biting them.

But, it wasn't going to give in that easily. Its wings were still free and Frela lacked the power to hold such a giant creature with just her vines. It flapped its wings and flew in the air before Paul and Aronis could chain its claws. As it flew higher the vines began to snap one by one. It used all its might and strength to snap the final eight vines and broke itself free. The werewolves were still clinging to it but as it got free they jumped down. It could easily devour them now.

Now, it seemed angrier as its shrieks grew louder before Strikers could make their next move, it moved and with one swift blow of its wings, sent them all flying. They crashed into the barrier and fell on the soft mud. Frela and Paul began to bleed from the nose and head, respectively.

Schlangto wasted no time in attacking again, this time with its claws but both the werewolves covered them. One of them bit the Schlangto's advancing claw while the other got hit by it. Its fur and skin got scraped and it fell on the ground, most probably because of the toxin. It grasped the other werewolf as well who was biting its claw and threw it to the ground. The crowd gasped, Mariela seemed on the edge as she gritted her teeth.

It advanced towards the remaining three with its burnt mouth open revealing sharp teeth, slithering fast on hundreds of its legs. Frela, Paul and Aronis tried to fight it but since their initial plan had failed and they didn't have a backup plan. Mariela stepped in and stopped the fight. With one whoosh of her wand, she opened the ground and sent him back inside.

"Take both of them to the infirmary and give them the antidote." She ordered pointing towards the werewolves as some seniors took them away. Frela, Paul and Aronis looked dejected as they walked out of the barrier. Mariela was trying to console them.

Meanwhile, Shumal Sensei took the podium. "Not a bad effort by Amethyst Strikers but they were unable to defeat the Schlangto. Let's see if the next team can do better than this. Auburn Stars, it's your turn now."

Ralph and his team were ready. Nervousness was evident on their faces as the last team was unable to defeat it. We went up to them to wish them good luck.

I hugged him: "I know you can defeat it but if things get out of hand, don't push too hard." I said it in his ear. He smiled: "I am gonna kick its ass, just watch." His deep blue eyes were full of excitement.

"Good luck Ralph, I hope you can defeat it," Serene added with a smile. "Alvene is watching, I gotta make an impression guys." He said with a chuckle, I rolled my eyes while Serene laughed.

Shumal called them and they rushed towards the magic barrier. Their team had Tanzil and Sabion as werewolves, a brown-haired boy who was a warlock named Canios, and a female vampire. Ralph had told me a little bit about their strategy. It wasn't a bad one, and they had the potential of defeating it if all worked out.

Once they were inside, Mariela summoned the Schlangto from the ground again. As it began to emerge, the female vampire moved with super speed with a jar in her hand and threw the contents into the eyes of the Schlangto. As it had not fully emerged from the ground and its claws were still inside, it couldn't defend itself. The solution was a strong acid which burnt its eyes making it blind. It shrieked and writhed with pain waving its head frantically.

Meanwhile, Tanzil and Sabion began to transform into their wolf forms. Canios was holding a stone which he hurled towards the emerging Schlangto which transformed into a sabertooth. Ralph took out a vial from his pocket and drank the green potion and drew his sword, while the female vampire was holding a rope that she was lacing with poison from her hands.

The Sabertooth landed on the head of the Schlangto and with its enormous teeth it dug deep into its neck and took out a huge chunk making the Schlangto who was fully out of the ground, go berserk. Schlangto grabbed the Sabertooth with its claws and began to rip him apart.

While The Schlangto was busy with Sabertooth, Team Stars had started their second phase of the plan. Both the werewolves jumped simultaneously on the wings of the Schlangto and with their sharp teeth and claws began to rip them apart. The female vampire and Cainos took the rope towards it and quickly began to tie its claws together. Cainos was wearing special gloves as the rope was laced with a paralytic toxin. As Schlangto was still holding the sabertooth in its claws and couldn't see them, it was too late when it realized that its wings and claws both had been squandered.

It tried to lift its body to throw them down. But, both Werewolves had their sharp teeth sunken in Schlangto's back. It was still writhing and lashing in pain and trying to break itself free from the rope.

Meanwhile, Ralph attacked it with his sword, cutting off several of its legs and claws. The female vampire was lacing its whole body with poison from her hands making it go limp as the toxin began to take effect.

"It's time Ralph," Cainos shouted. Ralph stepped closer to its head with his sword and since the sabertooth had already taken a chunk out of its weak spot. Ralph plunged the sword in with all his might, making it gurgle out a greenish fluid. It let out one last shriek and its head fell on the ground and its body went limp.

"Woah hooo," he shouted as all of his teammates came together in a big hug. A huge uproar from all of us outside made them turn their heads toward us. Everyone was cheering them on and I finally let out a sigh of relief.

Shumal Sensei was jumping up and down with excitement and hugged her team as they came out. " Salillah, you were amazing." She hugged the female vampire who was grinning from ear to ear. She was one of the main reasons for their victory. Her acid-producing ability helped them in winning this battle.

Serene, Ayrden and Mikasim went to congratulate them. Tanzil still in her wolf form jumped on Mikasim who hugged her. Serene and Ayrden congratulated them and they all looked pleased.

Ralph came towards me and hugged me: "Wasn't a bad plan, you see." Although Ralph only made the decisive blow, most of the planning was his and he perfectly used all of his teammates.

"Good job, Ralph. Your team was amazing." Alvene had come up to congratulate him. He turned towards her blushing. "Well, someone had to bring down that Schlangto." He said with a grin and she laughed with him.

"I don't expect anything less from my fellow Folkels." She smiled at us.
