Ruby and I jumped from the tree after the two Black Wolf members had left. It was then that I noticed that almost every tree trunk was marked with the mark of the Black Wolf. They were supposed to hold the sacrifice ritual here tonight.
I noticed that my horse was also missing, but fortunately, my wound was beginning to heal. I didn't know if it was because the ointment made by the court doctor was very effective or if it was because of me. Although I couldn't move my injured arm freely, at least the pain in the wound wasn't so obvious.
"It seems we have to wait here until the moon appears!" I whispered to Ruby. "We must be careful tonight because I'm not sure how many people there are!"
"You're willing to help me?" Ruby asked in surprise, "But didn't you just reject me?"
I smiled bitterly, "Well, I owe you, don't I? Even if I don't help you, you'll go alone to save your sister. I'm afraid I can't stand by and watch my savior walk into danger!"
