Capítulo 39: William

Wasn't this the gentleman I met in the garden? If I remember correctly, his name was William. As I hesitated to accept or reject him, the man reached out his slender fingers and pulled me into the dance floor.

William gently placed one of his hands on my waist, and I could hardly feel it. He was graceful and steady in his steps. I danced along with him on the dance floor, and since I rarely danced before, I had almost stepped on William's feet a few times. But each time, he dodged with predictable ease. When I looked at him awkwardly, he looked as if nothing had happened.

"You're very quiet tonight, Miss Sparrow!" William's voice was like a gentle breeze blowing into my ears, making me feel very good.

"The last time you said you wanted to see my head on the high wall, so I think I have no choice but to remain silent! Mr. Bamboo Pole!" I purposely dragged my words. This man had given me a nickname, so I had no choice but to return the favor.
