"Silver City was completely decimated," Cal informed his high lord. "There were no survivors from the attack." 

Lord Kieran shut his eyes, feeling troubled upon hearing the news. Aisgarth was now teeming with life, so different from the land he left upon his death. The warm breeze that touched his face wasn't enough to dispel the heaviness in his heart. The woman he loved had changed and now became the enemy of the world. 

Without a doubt, Iris led the Court of Nevernight, which was responsible for destroying the old city. She might have been planning to go there but decided to go to Aisgarth to collect Amelia. As he stood there, memories of their past love flooded his mind, making it even harder to accept the truth. He couldn't help but wonder what had happened to Iris—what had turned her into this person who would bring chaos and destruction to a once peaceful city.
