Capítulo 46: Pig Or Not To Pig

'What in the world is going on here?!' Jonathan thought in extreme confusion as he looked around him. He had been expecting some sort of obvious challenge or something that would tell him what the challenge meant but so far there had only been some animals asleep in a cage!

However, before he got too angry and cursed all the workers at Midnight Games there was a sudden screen that appeared in between the animal's cages. When the screen appeared there was a single line of text that simply said, 'Choose who dies.'

That was the only line of text that told him what to do and below that text there was a timer with 5 minutes that had begun counting down.

Jonathan waited for a moment expecting some kind of other clues as to what was going on but the longer he waited the more he realized that there truly wasn't another clue which meant he had to figure it all out on his own.

Jonathan walked toward the cages and looked around each of them trying to find some kind of difference between the 3 but the more he looked the more he realized that there was no difference except for the animal that inhabited the cage.

Each cage had a blinking red button at the front begging Jonathan to press it but he had no idea how many times he was supposed to press the button or how he was going to go about deciding what he was going to do and what was going to live.

If the animals were awake then Jonathan would have felt better choosing based on their personalities or something along those lines but since they're asleep and not doing anything then that option is off the table.

"How many am I supposed to choose?!" Jonathan shouted out into the open hoping he would get some sort of clue if he started asking questions. There were only 3 minutes remaining so he had to act quickly otherwise he might fail the game.

As Jonathan was about to give up on trying to talk to the screen suddenly some text appeared on it showing the number 1. Jonathan was confused as to what this meant but when he remembered the question he just asked a big smile appeared on his face as he realized he may have figured out the secret of the game.

Just like that Jonathan asked more and more questions waiting and hoping for an answer. He was so confident that he would get an answer that he waited until there was only 1 minute remaining until he finally gave up.

'They only answered one question!' Jonathan screamed in his mind as he walked back and forth between the buttons. There had to be an answer to the game otherwise they wouldn't even make it a game.

'What do I do? What do I do? What do I do? What do I do? What do I do? What do I do? What do I do? What do I do? What do I do? What do I do? What do I do? What do I do?' Jonathan repeated over and over again as he looked at each button.

He went forward to press the button for the goat but hesitated and moved toward the one with the sheep. When he went to press the sheep button he hesitated and decided not to press it repeating this motion over and over again as the clock ticked down refusing to give him any more time to think or breathe.

With only 10 seconds on the clock, Jonathan's mind worked in overdrive as he decided what to press and in the end he decided to press the pig button because it was the biggest and would give the most food once it died.

When Jonathan pressed the button there was a loud beeping noise along with a siren as a red light began flashing all over the room. Jonathan was quite caught off guard by the sight and he just looked around the room seeing all of the red lights come out of nowhere before there was a loud slicing sound.

SLICE!

When Jonathan heard the sound he turned back toward the pig cage and saw that a knife had fallen from the top of the cage and decapitated the pig killing it. As for the other two animals, it looked like they were slowly waking up and once they did wake up they seemed to be quite afraid and were shaking in terror confused about where they were.

"Did I win?" Jonathan said in a whisper as he looked around the room. After the other animals had woken up the red lights had stopped and the body of the pig slowly sank into the ground before disappearing with some sort of technology.

As Jonathan was thinking about whether he made the right choice or not new text appeared on the screen.

[You have passed please proceed through the next door to play the next part of the game.]

When Jonathan read that line on the screen he couldn't help but smile and jump for joy, "YES I DID IT!" Jonathan shouted as he pumped his fist in excitement. He had no idea what the criteria was for choosing the pig or why the pig was the right answer but at the end of the day he passed and that's all that mattered to him.

When the screen mentioned a door Jonathan was quite confused until he realized that there was a door right under the tv screen behind the cages. The entire time he had been too focused on what was wrong with the cages to even realized that there were other small parts of the room, the red lights were another example.

Once Jonathan knew he was ok to move on through the game he walked toward the door and opened it expecting to be back in the resting room or some sort of area where everyone else was gathered but he was wrong, very wrong.
