Days passed, and the remnants of the Xenon fleet transitioned into a star system that was a bit behind the frontlines on the Xenon side. From the outer system, the sensors of the flagship relayed what was going on in the inner system, closer to the yellow dwarf star that was at the center of the system.
The readings fed back to the systems of the ship, sending a video feed straight to the bridge. The view screen showed thousands of ships flying through the inner system. This star system was the home and origin of the Xenon race, the Antilla Star System.
"Set course for Morbod." Grokus told his chief navigator. Planet Morbod served as the central military board of the Xenon race. It was named after one of the most prestigious military generals in the Xenon race. The general that had discovered the humans.
The thrusters of the ships blazed, dragging trails of light behind them as they moved forward. The navigator contacted the authorities, and a flight path was soon drafted out for the fleet.
A few hours later, the flagship slid into place in the dock of a massive space station above Morbod. The hangar bay of the ship slid open with a hiss, and Grokus swaggered out of the ship, and onto the firm deck of the dock.
"Grokus, brother!" A burly, round-bellied Xenon came bouncing forward, his arms spread wide open, and a wide grin splitting his chubby face. Unlike other Xenon whose black marks were straight and rigid, this Xenon's marks looked like paint and were round and bendy.
"Malaias." Grokus grunted and folded his arms. Malaias was Grokus' younger brother, but instead of taking the warmongering path that his older brother took, he instead decided to go into the management industry, and had made his way up the ladder until he got to the level of a space station manager.
"Oh, brother. What happened to your fleet? I already told you not to play with those humans like you do." Malaias sighed and rubbed his smooth, eyebrow-less face. He had been put in charge of Grokus' fleet, as he was the only one his brother ever listened to. Not even penalties and sanctions deterred Grokus from doing what he wished.
"Hmm, it's fine. The lives of the soldiers were exchanged for valuable intelligence. The higher ups will be happy to see it." Grokus grunted, folded his arms, and walked away from the dock, leaving Malaias to follow him from a few steps behind.
"Oh? What intel did you come with this time?" Malaias' interest was piqued.
"New Paladins. Four of them. Also, I brought back some samples of a strange material that our scanners managed to pick up on some of the human starships. I tried finding out what it was, but my clearance level was too low." Grokus explained.
Like the nosy businessman he was, Malaias rubbed his chin in thought, thinking of how he could profit off this.
"Hmm, interesting. Well, when you do find out what it is, send me a message. I will use my own channels to find out some information." Malaias patted his brother's shoulder before turning and walking down a different road.
Grokus continued walking for some more time before arriving before a large, gray hatch. He placed his palm against the scanner to the side, watching it flash green, before it slid open. Behind it was another hatch that scanned his entire body, and behind that one was another one that took a sample of his blood, saliva, and did a retinal scan. The security was very tight.
Finally, Grokus arrived before a terminal which he inputted a special password into, and the final door slid open. The hatch slid open to reveal a small room with a single chair in the middle. He walked over and sat in the chair, keeping his spine straight and waiting in silence.
A minute later, a projection appeared in front of him, depicting another Xenon that was obviously of a higher rank than Grokus.
"Commander, I heard you have something that might interest the upper echelons. You may share your findings." The person spoke sternly.
"Yes, my fleet fought with a human defense fleet, and discovered a strange material that we could not identify. When we ran tests on it, the results came up as confidential. I saw the need to present this to the upper echelons because of this." Grokus explained. He tapped the wrist comm on his hand and a screen popped up, displaying the report on the material.
The man before him skimmed over the report for a few moments before nodding his head.
"Good, I have received the report. Merits will be duly awarded. Good job, commander." The holograph blinked out in the next moment and Grokus sighed, secretly relieved. It seemed he had found something of use this time.
Getting up, Grokus left the briefing room and went on to find Malaias. He needed a strong drink, and his brother knew how to hog all the good stuff in his office.

"Interesting. It seems they did not lie to me..." In a brightly lit office, a man wearing a white lab coat mumbled to himself. He stroked his haggard white hair with a small smile on his face. A couple seconds later, the smile fell away from his face and he turned serious before getting up from his seat and walking over to a water dispenser by the side. He filled a cup and looked at his reflection in the water.
This man was Professor Stewart.
Letting out a deep sigh, he shook his head again, feeling a weight settle on his shoulders.
"I need this to work. For the good of humanity. Moses..." His voice trailed off.
