Capítulo 32: A Mate's Protection

Ava sat inside Matthew's office, an ugly expression was written all over her face. She crossed her arms against her chest.

"Say that again?" Ava asked.

"I said… stay in the mansion. With me."

"And why would I do that?"

Matthew sighed in response.

"Its because you are not safe out there." He said.

"So… if I am with you. I am safe?"

He nodded.

"I could protect you."

"I can protect myself. Thank you very much." Ava was quick to rebut him.

"You don't understand."

"Then make me understand!" Ava hated arguing with people. However, what she hated the most was being treated like a child. "You said, Lycans are going to want me to work for them. Is that the reason why you wanted to keep me close?"

Actually, she could feel Matthew's anxiety and she knew he was scared. However, despite knowing his emotions, she couldn't read his mind. She had no clue why he was acting like this.

"I promise to protect you."

"True. But you didn't say anything about making me a prisoner."
