Everything around her became silent, and this strange ringing sensation started in her ear.
It was happening whether she liked it or not.
Never had any words hurt her like this. Anything that her father said to her had always been expected of him, but the same was not the case with Adrian.
It hurt when he said that.
Another tear escaped her eye Joyce did nothing to get rid of it. That was not fair to her.
"I don't get a choice in anything then." She said in a pathetic, broken whisper. "nothing is up to me."
Adrian cupped her face in his hands. "That is not true. But when it comes to your safety, and your well being, matters are going to be in my hands." He softened his expression for a moment. "I apologize, my joy, but this has to be done."
She didn't like that. Not at all.
"I don't want anything to be put inside me. That is not fair. It involves more than security."
Adrian did not like that. At least the expression on his face portrayed that.
