The sound of Koan groaning as he slowly recovered from the floor was drowned out by another bang. Nancy forgot all about him immediately as she was reminded by the noise outside that her father's life was at stake here. 

Rushing forward, limping midway, she grabbed Liliana and threw her over her shoulders with difficulty, since her legs were still adjusting to walking after being tossed around, before leaving the demolished building with such a speed that Koan didn't have time to go after them.
