My phone buzzes in my pocket and I take it out, seeing Jax's text has come through. He's still recovering, but a few days ago, he begged me to put him to work or he'll go crazy. His parents took him home when they arrived, but he moved to my house just a few days after, saying they drove him nuts. I couldn't not let him stay even though he annoys the fuck out of me whenever he gets the chance. I nearly lost my brother and I would take his annoying presence than not have him at all.

So I gave him light work and he uses my home office while I'm here. I last spoke to him yesterday when he swore he'd get things done before I come back.

Just those three words light up my body, I'm suddenly buzzing with energy as I frantically call him the next second. He picks up in video, his face filling the whole of my screen, his huge grin making me smile too. He no longer looks pale; that's good.
