Thunder struck way up in the skies, dreadfully shaking the Earth to it's core.
Lightning danced through the heavens, creating a dazzling electric light show.
Treacherous winds blew mercilessly, tearing up the surface of land and pulling out mighty trees from their root's.
The Clouds grew dark and gloomy, filling the atmosphere with Melancholy as the rain poured heavily, flooding the entire surface of the earth. There she was, an extremely beautiful woman lying in a crimson colored pool.
Her eyes seemingly lifeless, her skin pale, her body void of movement. She was dying.
"Despite my glorious victory over Jarzodon the dreaded Demon lord, my doom is inevitable. After countless battles I have fought, singing songs of victory, I never knew this would be my last.
Finally, I knock at deaths door waiting for him to let me in. What a pity, I, who was once feared by the gods themselves is now nothing more than a symbol of mockery.
Even with all my power, I can't turn back the clock of time, I can't erase this absolute point of reality.. I am nothing more than a failure." She thought to herself as she slowly and miserably died.
Almost immediately, a teenage girl who was clearly having troubles sleeping on her luxurious bed, sprang to reality.
"I had that dream again" The Girl worriedly thought to herself.
"Why do I keep having that dream?" She added.
Turns out the entire scenario was just a dream, a really annoying and disturbing dream, which this teenage girl had been having since her childhood.
"I've got to sleep" She said, going back to her previous sleeping position.
The Next Day,
That same girl from the previous night, was seen casually strolling through the hallway of a huge Mansion. Judging by the size and exquisite design of the Mansion, one could tell her family was extremely rich and Noble.
As she strolled through the hallway, the maids and servants who worked in the Mansion, casually greeted her by calling out her name "Yetunde!".
"Good Morning" She said as she danced right past them.
Yetunde Adebayo, aged seventeen few days ago. Lean, tall with an average body physique. Her chocolate skin glittered as the sun ray reflected on it. Her perfectly braided hair danced freely in the air and for some reason, she looked a lot like that woman she always dreamt about.
The Hallway was filled with all sort of exotic paintings, vases and artifact collected for over a century. At the end of the hallway was a room and judging by the architecture of the door, you could tell the room was a really important one.
The door was slightly opened, allowing outsiders to eavesdrop on the conversation going on in the room.
Yetunde seeing this, tiptoed to the door and stealthily eavesdropped on the ongoing conversation. She saw an old woman clearly berating a middle aged man.
The old woman was Yetunde's Grannie while the middle aged man was her Father.
"Are you sure sending that girl to the academy is a good idea?" The Old woman said nonchalantly.
"What are you talking about Mom?" He said, rolling his eyes in annoyance.
"Don't play dumb, you know what I'm talking about" The Old woman angrily yelled.
"I'm being serious Mom, I have no idea" He lied through his teeth's.
"I'm talking about you're useless daughter, Yetunde" The Old Woman yelled.
Hearing her words, The man's nonchalant attitude soon changed as his wryly smile turned into a frown. Unknown to them, Yetunde was standing right by the door. Her cherry smile soon turned upside-down as her eyes began to tear up.
"What the hell did you say about my daughter?" The Man roared, slamming his fist on a metal desk which was in front of him.
"Don't give me that attitude, you know what I'm saying is the truth" The Old woman commented, after seeing her son's vicious display.
"No one and I mean no one, has the right to talk trash about my daughter, that includes you!" He violently replied.
"Children at her age have already displayed their affinity but she hasn't" The Old woman said.
"So what?" He said, giving the Old woman a wicked glare.
"That girl is a dud. Despite her knowledge about Mana, she's still useless without an Affinity. We can't even enroll her to a Knight Academy, since only males can become Knights. She's a failure from birth" The Old woman said with indifference.
"How dare you say that about my daughter!" He erupted with anger. His eyes gradually began to glow silver as lightning streaks danced round his body.
The streaks of lightning had an odd silver color which signified that the lightning was a special one.
"Dad!" A beautiful voice echoed into the room causing both the man and Old woman to curiously stare at the door.
They both spotted Yetunde who was visibly shedding tears as she earnestly stared. Seeing his daughters present dilemma, his eyes returned normal as he tried to sympathize with his daughter. The Old woman simply scoffed with annoyance as she saw Yetunde's emotional breakdown.
"Yetunde.." Her Dad worriedly said.
She sadly dashed off, disappearing into the huge mansion. She immediately ran out of the mansion, heading straight into the Forest leaving everyone she met on her way in confusion.
"You see what you've done" Yetunde's Dad angrily said.
"Give me a break, I'm sure that good for nothing brat is fine" The Old Woman said with indifference.
"Get Out!" He erupted with anger, slamming both his fist on the desk, smashing it instantly to bits.
"Fine" The Old woman said as she casually walked out of the room.
Meanwhile,
Deep in The Forest.
Yetunde sat by a tree while she bitterly wept "I'm a failure" She said repeating the phrase over and over again.
"Why was I born this way?" She thought to herself.
"I'm a dud, a good for nothing, a sour excuse for a human. I am nothing more than a failure!" She mumbled to herself as tearing continued to run down her eyes.
As she cried out her heart, a serene voice echoed out of the blue. The voice sounded like a group of choristers singing in one accord. The song they sang was peaceful and calm, filling one's heart with warmth. The atmosphere was soon illuminated by tiny azure colored particles. The tiny particles and serene song soon caught Yetunde's attention as she began to trail it's origin.
As she ventured deep into the forest, the song and tiny azure particles became more intense. The song became louder while the number of tiny grain of azure light increased by tenfold.
Continuing her journey to find the source of the unusual phenomena, she stumbled upon a cave which seemed to be the source of both the song and light particles. Yetunde's eyes suddenly glowed azure, as the peaceful music attracted her.
She inched slowly towards the eerie cave hoping she could satisfy her thirst for answers. On arriving at the cave, her body suddenly felt like it was been sucked in by an extremely powerful force.
Inside the cave, Yetunde couldn't believe what her eyes saw, it was then it dawned on her that she had wandered into a Witch's Coven.
She saw countless woman wearing dark hooded coats, with some of them seated around a bright pool of water, seemingly meditating while the others stood around, performing some kind of ritual dance and singing a grotesque song, which was the same song Yetunde earlier heard. In the middle of the pool, was an Azure colored Lotus flower which looked like it just newly bloomed. The Lotus illuminated the entire room by radiating it's arcane essence across the place.
"Wow!" Yetunde quietly said in awe as she could actually feel the magic which flowed around her.
Not long after her arrival, she was immediately spotted by one of the Witches. "Intruder!" She yelled alerting the others, forcing them to discontinue the ongoing ritual.
In less than a second, Yetunde was completely surrounded by witches who were ready to kill her instantly. Before they could strike her dead, one of the witches exclaimed " Stop it!".
Immediately, they all ceased their attack as the witch that exclaimed earlier, waltz towards Yetunde.
" What in the seven hells are you doing here?" The Witch asked, giving Yetunde a death glare.
Yetunde could literally feel the glare the Witch gave her, piercing her soul deeply, causing her to momentarily panic. She tried walking backwards towards the entrance but unfortunately, it was already blocked.
"I am really sorry, I didn't mean to disturb you" She frightfully shivered, staring pitifully at The Witch who interrogated her.
"How did you even see this place?" The Witch asked with her interest piqued.
"What do you mean?" Yetunde confusedly replied.
"This place is a sacred sanctuary warded by a strong layer of Primordial Mana. Not even the gods can see this place" The Witch boasted.
"So, I want to know how you saw our coven" She added.
