When Death snapped her fingers the ones too frozen to move snapped out of it, she got them all dressed as not everyone wanted to be looked at naked by their husband's mother. Now that they got a look at her holding Kurayami they could see the resemblance.
The shape of their eyes was similar and they could see why Kurayami got the black sclera. Even the color of their skin was nearly identical which was something that Kurayami and Akeno did not have. Kurayami's skin tone was pale, but not unhealthy.
The shade of their hair was the same and looked to swallow all the light that touched it. Suppose they did not believe him before they now believed him. Akeno felt a sense of familiarity with Death, but she had some questions to say.
"You are Death. Death itself."
Death nodded.
"That is me. I know what you want to say."
Akeno looked at Kurayami who was still on the ground in her vice-like grip. The motherly smile did not go away from her face as she loved to hold her son like this. It made up for his infancy where she did not get to be the mother she wanted.
"Why? Why did you let him suffer his first life? Why make him my brother?"
A bitter look appeared on Death's face as she let go of Kurayami.
"I am Death, I also know all the possible ways someone can die. Being my son gives him the limited potential for growth, but that comes with risks. Every single being with power wants his soul for the simple fact that his soul is just a shard of mine. Ask your questions."
Raynare and Zesshi looked at each other as death magic users it was taking all they had to not fall to their knees. Raynare pinched herself as she asked her question.
"Does it have to do with the fact that I want to prostrate myself to you?"
Death waved her hand and lifted that feeling.
"My bad, any being that uses Death magic in any way is my servant. Even necromancers are just using one aspect of my power."
Akeno looked at Kurayami who got up and dusted himself off.
"Who is after his soul?"
Death shook her head.
"The question should be who isn't. Outer gods, Cultivators, Demons, gods, fiends, celestials, everyone wants a piece of me and by extension my son. The only reason they have just started to move is the simple fact that they did not know he existed. Until you came along."
She pointed at Ophis who had a guess.
"When I gave him my bloodline and aspect?"
Death nodded.
"Bingo. You sped up the independence of his soul and I thank you for now. His soul was nothing more than a shard of mine, but thanks to you I can safely hold him now. His soul is his own now and I don't have to fear killing him. It was why I sent him to his first world. I choose the path that would result in him growing the fastest."
Kurayami sighed.
"Thanks, my life was decided for me from birth it seems."
Death shook her head.
"No. I only set you on the path, you paved it yourself. You are one of a kind in existence. Now to get to the important part. In exactly one-year real time you will face a foe that will make Satanael look like a chump. Also, you got Satanael's master who will send even stronger foes to kill you all."
Esdeath liked the sound of that.
"Let me guess, you will not interfere."
Death nodded.
"I love my son, but I already did my part. If I do everything for him he will just become a spoiled young master in the cultivation worlds."
Raynare now had an unimportant question.
"Can you explain why they all seem braindead?"
Death chuckled as there was a good reason for that.
"Oh that, Cultivation by itself is not bad art. Even I based a lot of my techniques on it. The main issue with cultivators is that most cultivators feel they are Heaven's chosen. I can see that you want to be one though. It is good that you are making your own. Only you know yourself best. This brings me to my main point. My advice."
They all looked at her waiting for the advice. Death had a few pieces of information for them.
"All of you are starting to follow your own paths which are good. Become as unique as you can manage as you will one day have the choice to go through your Trial of existence. All of you have alternative versions."
The moment that they heard that they were not unique they had different reactions. Kurayami felt pure wrath boil in his soul making Death bring up another point.
"I knew that would bother you. There is actually an option to fix that, get strong enough to the point that you can request Reality to become a unique being. The trial is given to those strong enough, which will fuse you with every alternative version of yourself. Not many succeed, still, if you wish to go beyond the shackles of your existence got strong enough."
Kurayami looked at all of his women and was ready to try. His pride could not stand that other men could look at the bodies of his fiances. Only he deserved that right and he would do everything in his power to achieve that result.
Death smiled as she knew that would motivate him.
"Don't worry about it son, it will take a long time for any of you to reach that level. All I will say is that you are on the right path. Keep experimenting with what works, and find new paths to get stronger in any way you can. I should go, this was fun. Most of you stayed quite though."
Lavinia coughed and tried to say something.
"Can you blame us?"
Death shook her head.
"Nope. Which is why I didn't say anything. You have a lot to discuss."
In an instant, the vision disappeared and Kurayami stayed sitting in his chair. His eyes were squinted as he learned something foul.
'I cannot accept something like this. They are mine and only mine. They will pass that trial at all costs.'
Noticing he was in deep thought Kuroka walked up to him and held his face.
"Calm your anger. Even if there are other versions of us, they are not us."
Ophis shook her head as she knew what was wrong.
"You are underestimating the greed of a Dragon and a man. No man wants to know that his woman is being touched by-"
She noticed that just made Kurayami madder so she stopped.
"As I was saying, I also do not like this. I hate knowing that out there is another me with a different life. As such I will do everything I can to pass my trial whenever that is. The question now is, do all of you think you can do it."
Esdeath nodded.
"Of course. I also hate the idea. I get goosebumps imagining that."
Kuroka nodded.
"You think I don't. Who knows what kind of lives our alternative selves lived. I don't know if the process is safe. Will we have to live through that kind of stuff?"
Kurayami shook his head and stopped thinking about it.
"Alright, we know that you will have to go through it and we have a year to get ready for whatever is coming our way. Also, we got Satanael's master whose name I can't say to any of you safe for Ophis who already knows."
That made most of them angry as they were still too weak. Nyx sighed and asked the important question.
"How weak are we really?"
Submission answered brutally honestly.
"You would have no chance. Even a faint whisper of the Primordial tongue would decimate your soul and lead you to oblivion. I recommend that all of you strive to go through as many Submlimations are you can. They raise the level of your body and soul. At the minimum reach the Dragon God realm. That is the cut way."
Artemis sighed as she fell limp on the bed.
"The man who took my virginity is Death's son. Things were so much simpler before this."
Amaterasu nodded.
"Perk up already. This is an opportunity Artemis. Don't be so depressed about the best possible husband for you. You already crossed that line."
Artemis nodded.
"I know already, just feels weird. So what is the plan?"
Kurayami got up and looked out the window.
"Change of plans, we are staying here for the full year. That means we got about 6 years of training. Every 2 months is about a year, so this is the best possible way. You will train as if your life depends on it. Kuroka, Zesshi come here."
Both girls walked up to him a bit confused. He looked at them and told them the news.
"You are pregnant. Both of you."
Hearing that made them happy, but they saw he was not smiling. Kuroka worried and held her belly.
"What is wrong?"
He shook his head.
"I can't let you give birth right now. It would be irresponsible."
Kuroka knew he was not going to kill their child, but it still made her nervous. Zesshi as well already backed away as she did not know him too well.
"What do you mean?"
He snapped his fingers making them both feel hot and itchy around their wombs. They pulled up their shirts to reveal their midsection where they saw a seal around their wombs.
"There you go, this is a space and time seal I came up with. This way, the souls of the babies will be protected even if you take a full-force blow from me. It also will prevent them from being born until I remove the seal."
Kuroka sighed in relief as this was better than what she had in mind.
"I thought you were going to give me a forced abortion?"
He scoffed at the idea.
"I'm not about to kill my own children. I just felt that this is not a safe time."
He reached out and pulled both Kuroka and Zesshi for a hug. He looked down at the half-elf who looked a little ashamed that she thought he would kill her baby. It was weird knowing she was pregnant without feeling it.
He sat on the bed as he had several things to do.
"Alright, now that that is taken care of we have 6 years to get all of you are strong as possible. You are all making good progress, so we will have to do this more often along with increasing the intensity of your training."
Latia felt that was fine.
"If it will let us get stronger to save our world I am fine with anything."
Grayfia nodded.
"A maid should be ready to fight for her master, so this is fine with me."
Annabeth sighed as she had once felt she was strong enough.
"Oh well, let's get to it. I thought I had reached a decent level of strength, but seems I was wrong. Let's get training."
Shalltear once again felt the turmoil in her mind coming from the fact that meeting Death removed even more of the programming left in her mind. At this point, she was no longer just an NPC, but her own person.
"If we are going to be here for 6 years, I guess I cannot slouch them, master. I will have to resign from the Floor Guardians it seems."
Kurayami nodded.
"I will talk to Ainz when we return. I will get a suitable replacement for you. Kurayami looked at everyone and knew it was time to start.
"All of you take a shower first and get ready to train again. I want you to go through your second Submilations at the very least. The first to achieve it will get a reward."
Hearing that made them all rush to the shower room leaving him, Ophis, Rebellion Submission, and Shin. Xargomoth appeared on his shoulder to look at them leave.
'Will you require my aid in this venture of yours?'
Kurayami nodded.
"I and Ophis are not strong enough as we are. We three will have to train as if our lives depend on it.'
Wagging his crystal-like tail, Xargomoth had an idea.
'We could go to the Wrath ring in Hell. Lucifer while being the King of Hell, should give your mother her due.'
Kurayami was not so sure about that, but Death sent him a message.
'You have nothing to fear, Satan who is the Prince of the Wrath Ring is my servant. He will keep you hidden. However, if Lucifer finds you, I won't help you. This is your adventure, not mine.'
Kurayami had no issue with that.
"Well seems we got a chance. Xargomoth what do you know about Satan."
Xargomoth thought about it as when he was in Hell he was only a high-class Demon.
'I saw him once, every 500 years he hosts a massive tournament for the different classes of demons. I fought in the High Demon class bracket and won. My reward was a spark of Typhon's lightning.'
That got Ophis interested.
"We have a Typhon on Earth, what about him?"
Xargomoth shook his head.
'Not the same. The real Typhon was sealed and banished into Hell long ago into the Wrath ring. Even before I was cast into Hell. In terms of strength, he is Demon Lord level. In his prime, he could destroy entire galaxies. This means that the Demon Princesses are above that. Lucifer is even above that.'
Kurayami sat on his chair with a smile on his face.
"That seems so weak when I picture my mother. As her son, I don't think I can show any less than that can I?"
Ophis grabbed his chin and kissed him.
"A mama's boy already. When are we going down."
Kurayami looked at Xargomoth and he already knew when.
"One month, in that time we will train with Xargomoth as he lived in Hell. We need to be ready for anything."
Xargomoth nodded.
'My expertise and memories are yours.'
While Kurayami planned to head into Hell, on Earth, some people appeared in a flash of light. One looked bloodied and his attire looked like something from science fiction. he wore gauntlets while his chest was slashed open.
From behind him, a brown-haired young man helped him get up. Several other people also helped him up as they had one last chance.
"Come on Kanzaki, this is our last chance."
He nodded.
"We have to hurry, we need to kill Kurayami before he can unleash his plan on Earth."
They teleported away before the space behind them was ripped open. An armored arm ripped space open before someone stepped into Earth. Space trembled under her might, but it gave out in the end.
When she stepped into Earth she recoiled in disgust at the sight of the Earth.
"Father has not started yet. These time travelers are so annoying, trying to stop the inevitable.'
She closed the portal behind her and vanished as she went on to hunt down Issei, Kanzaki, and the surviving members of fools who wanted to kill Kurayami when he was weaker. She found them first and killed most of them. Now she had just a few loose ends to tie up.
Kanzaki Mitsuya time traveled in the Light Novel, but Time travel is weird. Don't take it to heart much as Kurayami cannot be affected by paradoxes. Soon he did not even have a future or past versions.
